Trump’s Envoy: US Expects Progress on Phase Two of Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Deal

Washington — The United States expects the second phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement to move forward, President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy stated on Sunday.

Speaking in an interview with CNN, Steve Witkoff addressed concerns regarding Israel’s decision to delay the release of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

“We have to get an extension of Phase One,” Witkoff said. “I’ll be going to the region this week, probably Wednesday, to negotiate that.”
