World Heart Day: Five tips to keep your heart healthy

0

You know that exercise and a good diet can keep your heart healthy. But what else can you do to keep your ticker going strong? Here are five key things you need to do every day to help your heart work most efficiently. Incorporate these habits into your lifestyle and your heart health will be the best it can be for you.

1. Eat healthy fats, NOT trans fats

We need fats in our diet, including saturated and polyunsaturated and unsaturated fats. One fat we don’t need is trans fat, which is known to increase your risk of developing heart disease or having a stroke over a lifetime. This is because trans fat clogs your arteries by raising your bad cholesterol levels (LDL) and lowering your good cholesterol levels (HDL). By cutting them from your diet, you improve the blood flow throughout your body. So, what are trans fats? They are industry-produced fats often used in packaged baked goods, snack foods, margarines and fried fast foods to add flavor and texture.

Tip: Read the labels on all foods. Trans fat appears on the ingredients list as partially hydrogenated oils. Look for 0 percent trans fat. Make it a point to avoid eating foods with trans fat.

2. Practice good dental hygiene, especially flossing your teeth daily

Dental health is a good indication of overall health, including your heart, because those who have periodontal (gum) disease often have the same risk factors for heart disease. Studies continue on this issue, but many have shown that bacteria in the mouth involved in the development of gum disease can move into the bloodstream and cause an elevation in C-reactive protein, a marker for inflammation in the blood vessels. These changes may in turn, increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Tip: Floss and brush your teeth daily to ward off gum disease. It’s more than cavities you may have to deal with if you are fighting gum disease.

3. Get enough sleep

Sleep is an essential part of keeping your heart healthy. If you don’t sleep enough, you may be at a higher risk for cardiovascular disease no matter your age or other health habits. One study looking at 3,000 adults over the age of 45 found that those who slept fewer than six hours per night were about twice as likely to have a stroke or heart attack as people who slept six to eight hours per night. Researchers believe sleeping too little causes disruptions in underlying health conditions and biological processes, including blood pressure and inflammation.

Tip: Make sleep a priority. Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep most nights. If you have sleep apnea, you should be treated as this condition is linked to heart disease and arrhythmias.

4. Don’t sit for too long at one time

In recent years, research has suggested that staying seated for long periods of time is bad for your healthno matter how much exercise you do. This is bad news for the many people who sit at sedentary jobs all day. When looking at the combined results of several observational studies that included nearly 800,000 people, researchers found that in those who sat the most, there was an associated 147 percent increase in cardiovascular events and a 90 percent increase in death caused by these events. In addition, sitting for long periods of time (especially when traveling) increases your risk of deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot).

Tip: Exerts say it’s important to move throughout the day. Park farther away from the office, take a few shorter walks throughout the day and/or use a standing work station so you can move up and down. And remember to exercise on most days.

5. Avoid secondhand smoke like the plague

Studies show that the risk of developing heart disease is about 25 to 30 percent higher for people who are exposed to secondhand smoke at home or work. According to the American Heart Association, exposure to tobacco smoke contributes to about 34,000 premature heart disease deaths and 7,300 lung cancer deaths each year. And nonsmokers who have high blood pressure or high blood cholesterol have an even greater risk of developing heart disease when they’re exposed to secondhand smoke. This is because the chemicals emitted from cigarette smoke promote the development of plaque buildup in the arteries.

Tip: Be firm with smokers that you do not want to be around environmental smoke—and keep children away from secondhand smoke.

Follow these five tips and you’ll be doing your heart a favor. You’ll feel better and be able to stay active with a heart-healthy lifestyle.

US, China, and India to pay heavy price for being  top carbon emitters

According to a new research published in the scientific journal, Nature Climate Change, after the US, India will experience the highest economic loss due to its carbon dioxide (CO2) emission by 2020.

The study—which is a collaborative effort of researchers from University of California, Carnegie Institution for Science and RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE)—highlights that the Saudi Arabia, another heavy emitter, also stands to lose significantly. Just like the US, it will contribute 11 per cent to the global social cost of carbon (SCC).

China, being one of the world’s largest CO2 emitters, is likely to incur a relatively lesser cost than the US but higher than India.

The study claims that it is for the first time a data set has been developed by researchers to quantify country-level contributions to SCC, which is a measure of the damages from CO2 emissions for at least 169 countries across the globe.

India’s country-level social cost of carbon emission was estimated to be the highest at $86 per tonne of CO2. It means the Indian economy will lose $86 by emitting each additional tonne of CO2. India is followed by the US, where the economic damages would be $48 per tonne of CO2 emission. Saudi Arabia is close behind at $47 per tonne of CO2 emission.

Northern Europe, Canada and the Former Soviet Union have negative SCC values because their current temperatures are below the economic optimum.

Calculating the economic loss

India, which emits more than 2.4 billion metric tonnes of CO2, is already bearing an economic loss of $206 billion, which is close to 10 per cent of its GDP. Owing to its higher rate of CO2 emission (5.3 billion metric tonnes), US is losing more than $254 billion given that the economic cost of per tonne of CO2 emission is $48. China’s economy is also suffering a massive setback worth $243.6.

To estimate country-level contributions to the SCC, the researchers used recent climate model projections, empirical climate-driven economic damage estimations and socio-economic projections.

Why is the study important?

The reasons are more than one. Mapping country-level contributions to SCC or domestic impacts can help in quantifying “non-cooperative behaviour”, and thus understanding “the determinants of international cooperation”. According to the researchers of this latest study, “Country-level estimates can also allow us to better understand regional impacts, which are important for adaptation and compensation measures.” Moreover, a micro-level estimation of climate damage and benefits can impact estimates of net global climate damage and its sensitivity to socio-economic drivers.

Mosque is Essential not Optional: Babri-Ayodhya Debate

0

“a mosque as a place of prayer is an essential part of Islam”

The Supreme Court today declined to refer the question that “a mosque as a place of prayer is an essential part of Islam” to a Constitution bench.

The 1994 ruling had decided the issue of whether namaz or prayers can be offered anywhere — or whether a mosque is an essential part of the practice of Islam and is needed for congregation and to pray. The SC had then held that Namaz could be offered anywhere and that a mosque was not necessary for this.

This article underlines the importance of mosques in Islam with respect to the commandments laid by Allah the Almighty in Quran and His final and noble prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Importance of Mosques in Islam

The biggest proof that a mosque or masjid is an important part of Islam is the command of Allah in Quran Surah Surah Al-A’raaf (7:31): O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.

In these verses [al-Noor Chapter 24: Verses 36-37] there is the command to venerate the mosques and cleanse them of idle talk and impure things. Allah has commanded us to venerate the mosques as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“In houses (mosques) which Allah has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is remembered [i.e. Adhaan, Iqaamah, Salalah (prayers), invocations, recitation of the Qur’aan]. Therein glorify Him (Allaah) in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings, Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the remembrance of Allaah (with heart and tongue) nor from performing As-Salaah (Iqaamat-as-Salaah) nor from giving the Zakaah. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection)”

A mosque (masjid) is a place that has been set aside for offering the obligatory prayers on a permanent basis and is devoted for that purpose. A prayer room or prayer place (musalla) is a place that is used for prayer occasionally, such as the ‘Eid prayers, funeral (janaazah) prayers and so on, and it is not set aside as a waqf for the five daily prayers.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When one of you enters the mosque, let him not sit down until he has prayed two rak‘ahs.” Saheeh – agreed upon.

It was narrated by Abu Dawood (455), al-Tirmidhi (594) and Ibn Maajah (759) that ‘Aa’ishah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded that mosques be built among houses and that they be cleaned and perfumed.”

What is meant by “among houses” is in neighbourhoods and among tribes.

Purpose of Mosques in Islam

Mosques are places for the worship of Allah alone, free from idolatrous practices, since Islam is a purely monotheistic religion.

Mosques can attract non-Muslims to Islam by showing them some of the religious activities of the Muslims such as the prayer, making them curious about Islam and its beliefs, and giving them an opportunity to find out more.

Mosques are centres of learning and study of the Qur’an, hadeeth, Sunnah, Seerah (the Prophet’s life) and more.

Mosques are a meeting place for the community where they are informed of important religious events and duties.

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) informed the men that they are not allowed to prevent women from attending the Mosques, because Mosques are important places for them too.

Some Mosques are negligent and do not follow the Sunnah, nor do they give importance to Tawheed.

A very small number of Mosques open their doors to radical ideas – good Muslims who want to follow the Sunnah should be not deceived by these type of Mosques or the people who speak there.

The Friday prayers are obligatory upon every adult male, and these are conducted in the larger Mosques.

London Court denies bail to Dawood’s man Motiwala

0

A judge in London has denied bail to Jabir Motiwala, aka Jabir Siddiq, believed to be a key aide of India’s most-wanted Dawood Ibrahim.

Judge Margot Coleman denied bail referring to the “very very serious allegations” faced by Motiwala — who was referred to as Mr. Moti in court.

The judge said she was not convinced to grant him bail on the grounds that he could fail to appear in court in future or commit further offences.

The charges faced by Motiwala, include conspiracy to money laundering, extortion, and drug trafficking.

The estimated amount believed to be laundered by him is $1.4 million.

The defence insisted that the serious allegations were all disputed, and he had never been involved in criminal charges in any jurisdiction in the past, and it would be in his interest to stay in the UK and fight his case.

Motiwala was arrested in the Paddington area of central London on Friday by the metropolitan police’s extradition unit, in relation to an allegation of “conspiracy to commit blackmail, import class A drugs and money laundering in the USA,” police said on Monday.

“A warrant had been issued by Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he appeared later on Friday, and is due to appear again on Tuesday,” police said.

India believes Ibrahim to be in Pakistan. Britain’s consolidated list of financial sanctions targets updated earlier this month lists three addresses for Ibrahim, all in Karachi, including one described as a “palatial bungalow.”

Does Hunger affect your mood?

0

Turns out, hungry (bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger) isn’t just a made—up term. According to a new research, the sudden drop in glucose we experience when we are hungry can impact our mood.

University of Guelph researchers examined the impact of a sudden glucose drop on emotional behaviour by inducing hypoglycemia in rats.

“We found evidence that a change in glucose level can have a lasting effect on mood. I was skeptical when people would tell me that they get grouchy if they don’t eat, but now I believe it. Hypoglycemia is a strong physiological and psychological stressor,” said

Professor Francesco Leri, Department of Psychology.

“When people think about negative mood states and stress, they think about the psychological factors, not necessarily the metabolic factors, but we found poor eating behaviour can have an impact,” said study author, Thomas Horman.

The rats were injected with a glucose metabolism blocker causing them to experience hypoglycemia, and were then placed in a specific chamber. On a separate occasion, they were given an injection of water and placed in a different chamber. When given the choice of which chamber to enter, they actively avoided the chamber where they experienced hypoglycemia.

“This type of avoidance behaviour is an expression of stress and anxiety. The animals are avoiding that chamber because they had a stressful experience there.

They don’t want to experience it again,” said Leri.

The researchers tested blood levels of the rats after experiencing hypoglycemia and found more corticosterone, an indicator of physiological stress. The rats also appeared more sluggish when given the glucose metabolism blocker.

“You might argue that this is because they need glucose to make their muscles work. But when we gave them a commonly used antidepressant medication, the sluggish behaviour was not observed. The animals moved around normally. This is interesting because their muscles still weren’t getting the glucose, yet their behaviour changed,” added Leri.

For people who experience anxiety or depression, the study results have implications for treatment, said Horman.

“The factors that lead someone to develop depression and anxiety can be different from one person to the next. Knowing that nutrition is a factor, we can include eating habits into possible treatment,” added Horman.

These findings also provide insight into the connection between depression and diseases such as obesity, diabetes, bulimia and anorexia.

Having established that hypoglycemia contributes to negative mood states, the researchers plan to determine whether chronic, long-term hypoglycemia is a risk factor for developing depression-like behaviours. Horman said while missing one meal may make you “hangry,” these findings suggest your mood could be impacted if mea|—skipping becomes a habit.

“Poor mood and poor eating can become a vicious cycle in that if a person isn’t eating properly, they can experience a drop in mood, and this drop in mood can make them not want to eat.

FRIDAY: Suffering with Weak Faith?

0

QUESTION: I have been a religious person for several years, but for a few months I have been feeling that my mind and heart are devoid of faith and will power. This matter is tormenting me and I said to myself that perhaps this is a touch from the Shaytaan or something like that, and it will go away when Ramadaan comes. But it has not gone away and I find it very difficult to pray qiyaam al-layl (night prayers). I have tried to read more Qur’aan despite this waswaas (whispering) and the distress it is causing me. My situation has started to affect me socially, at work, in the family and in my religion. Now I am living in torment because of this and I cannot find the faith which I feel has been taken away from me. I feel that I will have a bad end and that my faith will never return to me and that a seal has been placed over my heart. When I go to the mosque to pray, which I have not stopped doing, I feel that I am not like the other worshippers and I envy them for their faith. I also feel put off by religion and often I cannot listen to the Qur’aan or hadeeth (prophetic narrations), or listen to tapes, except with great difficulty. This is tormenting me because I do not want this, and I want to be like I was, a believer who loves the religion because it is the truth, but I feel that I cannot control my mind or my feelings. I have started to think about my sins which I believe are the cause of this, and I have started to remember many sins which I had forgotten, as if they are appearing before me one after the other. Until now I am living with this torment, misery and distress. I do not know what has happened to me and what the solution and the remedy is. Will my faith come back to me or is this a bad end and a punishment from Allaah? Finally, please do not forget to make du’aa’ (supplication) for me.

RESPONSE:

Praise be to Allaah.

My brother, have great hope in Allaah, and do not let the Shaytaan cause you to despair of the vast mercy of Allaah which He has guaranteed for His believing slaves. What you are telling yourself about this being a sign that you will die following something other than that which Allaah wants is only insinuating whispers (waswaas) from the Shaytaan and his deviant ideas by means of which he wants to tempt the slaves of Allaah and lead them away from their religion. So he comes to a righteous slave and whispers to him that his good deeds are of no avail, or that he is doing them not for the sake of Allaah but to show off to people, so that they will think he is good. All of these are the usual ways with which the Shaytaan tries to trick the slaves of Allaah, especially those who show signs of being righteous – of whom I think that you are one, although I do not praise anyone before Allah – to hinder their efforts. We seek refuge with Allaah from him.

You need to increase your hope and trust in Allaah Who forgives all sins, and who accepts the slave who seeks His protection and refuge, for He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving and the  Most Loving.

You should increase your good deeds, such as reading Qur’aan, giving charity, remembering Allaah (dhikr), upholding the ties of kinship, etc. The weakness which you feel also happens to others, for it is something natural. How many people were examples followed by others and had a great deal of drive and ambition, then they lost their drive and ambition for a long time, then it came back to them by the grace of Allaah. Remember the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Everybody has his time of energy, and every time of energy is followed by a time of lethargy. But if a person tries to follow a moderate path, then I have hope for him, but if he becomes one who is pointed out (in the street), then do not think anything of him.”

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2453; classed as hasan (sound) by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1995).

What is meant by “Everybody has his time of energy” is eagerness for a thing, energy and the desire to do good.

What is meant by “every time of energy is followed by a time of lethargy” is tiredness, weakness and lack of movement.

“But if a person tries to follow a moderate path” means that the one who has energy does his deeds in moderation and avoids going to extremes when he is feeling energetic and avoids being negligent when he is feeling lethargic.

“Then I have hope for him” means, I have hope that he will be successful, for he can continue following a middle course, and the most beloved deeds to Allaah are those which are continuous.

“but if he becomes one who is pointed out (in the street)” means, if he strives hard and goes to extremes in doing good deeds so that he will become famous for his worship and asceticism, and he becomes famous and people point him out to one another, “then do not think anything of him” means, do not think that he is one of the righteous, because he is showing off. He did not say, “do not have hope for him,” as an indication that he has already fallen, and he will not be able to make up for what he has missed out on. [From Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi]

Think about this hadeeth, and relate it to your own situation and the situation of others: you will see a clear similarity. This hadeeth clearly states that man goes through a stage of incomparable eagerness and great focus and ambition, then suddenly he becomes weak and loses that focus and eagerness and ambition. When he reaches this stage, he must strive even harder to do obligatory duties and avoid haraam (impermissible) things. If he does that, then there is the hope that he will succeed and progress, but if he falls into haraam things and stops doing obligatory things, he will be lost and doomed.

So you must turn to Allaah a great deal, seek His forgiveness and ask Him to make you steadfast until death. I also advise you to keep away from haraam things. May Allaah forgive your sins and make things easier for you.

Lekin ye masla yahi’n par khatam nahi hota maafi wala video viral hojane ke baad hindustani media aur hindu samaaj ne sawal uthaye ke waris Pathan ne ganesh se prathna/dua maang kar kaunsa bada gunaah kardiya ?

Media ke aur hindu samaaj ke yehi sawalo ka jawab is risaale mei diya jaaraha hai.

Islam Mazhab Hai Usoolo’n Ka Qaedo’n Ka.

Jo Hume Allah Ki Kitab Al-Quran Aur Allah Ke Rasool Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (ﷺ) Ki Ahadith Se Milte Hain.

Quran Aur Hadith Ki Ta’leemaat Se Hume Pata Chalta Hai Ek Muslaman Banne/Hone  ka Me’aar Ye Hai Ke, Jo Bhi Insaan Islam Qubool Karna Chahta Hai Uske Liye Ye Laazim Sharth Hai Ke Wo Duniya Ke Tamam Ma’bood (yani jiski wo ibaadat karte hain) Unka Inkaar Karei’n.

Chaahe wo Jaandaar Ho Ya Be Jaan, Zinda Ho Ya Murda, Ek Aam Insaan Ho Ya Allah Ke Nabi, Sahabi, Wali, Farishta Ho Ya Jinn. Sub Ki Ibaadat Ka Inkaar Karne Ke Baad.

Islami Kalima Laa Ilaaha Illallah Ka Pehla Rukn Mukammal Hota Hai.

“Laa ilaaha” Nahi Hai Koi Ma’bood e Barhaq.

(Mafhoom: Nahi Hai Koi Sacha Ibaadat Ke Layeq)

Phir Aata Hai “ILLA ALLAH” Magar Allah Hai Ma’bood e Barhaq (Mafhoom: ALLAH Hai Sacha Ibaadat Ke Layeq).

“LAA ILAAHA ILLAALLAH” (MAFHOOM: NAHI HAI KOI SACHA IBAADAT KE LAYEQ SIVAYE ALLAH KE.

Aur “Muhammadur RasoolUllah Muhammad   (ﷺ) Allah Ke Rasool Hain.

Yehi Nahi Balke Aadam Alaihsalaam Ke Baad Allah Ne Taqriban Har Nabi Ko Ye Paigham De Kar Bheja Ke Sirf Ek Allah Ki Ibaadat Karo Jiski Misaal Ye Hai.

QURAN 7:59 Nabi Nooh (as) ne kaha: “aye meri biraadri Ke logo’n Allah Ki Ibaadat Karo uske siva tumhara koi ma’bood nahi” .

QURAN 7:65 Prophet Hood (as) ne kaha: “bhaiyo’n Allah hi Ki Ibaadat Karo uske siva tumhara koi ma’bood nahi”.

QURAN 7:73 Nabi Saalih (as) ne kaha: “aye qaum Allah hi Ki Ibaadat Karo iske siva tumhara koi ma’bood nahi”.

QURAN 7:85 Nabi Shuaib (as) ne kaha: “Qaum Allah hi Ki Ibaadat Karo iske siva tumhara koi ma’bood nahi”.

QURAN 29:16 Nabi Ibraahim (as) ne kaha: “aur Ibrahim ne apni qaum se kaha Allah Ki Ibaadat Karo aur isse daro”.

QURAN 12:40 Nabi Yusuf (as) ne kaha: “Jin cheezo’n Ki tum Allah    Ke siva parastish karte ho wo Sirf naam hi naam hain jo tumne aur tumhare baap dada ne rakhliye hain Allah ne inki koi sanad nazil nahi ki Allah Ke siva kisi ki hukumat nahi Hai “iske siva kisi ki Ibaadat” na karo yehi seedha Deen Hai Magar lekin aksar log nahi jaante”.

QURAN 43:64 Nabi Eesa (as) ne kaha: “Kuch shak nah ke Allah hi mera aur tumhara parwardigaar hai pas iski Ibaadat karo yehi seedha raasta hai”.

QURAN 38: 65, 66 Pyare Aaqa Muhammad (ﷺ) se Allah ne kaha: “Allah ke siva koi ma’bood nahi”.

Rasoolallah (ﷺ) Ne Farmaya: “Dua Ek Ibaadat Hai” (Jamia Tirmizi).
Dua, Praathna, Mannat, Musibat Mei Dil Se Madad Ke Liye Pukaarna, Ye Sub Ibaadat Hai Aur Upar Humne Parha Ke  Ibaadat Ka Haqdaar Sirf Aur Sirf Akela Allah Hi Hai.

To sabit Hua Ke Waris Pathan Ka Maafi Maangna Be Hadd Zaruri Tha Kyu Ke Agar Koi Muslaman Shirk Yani Allah Ke Saath Uski Ibaadato Mei Kisi Ko shareek Karta Hai To Wo Mushrik Aur Kafir Hojata Hai, Aur Agar Maut Se Pehle Apne US Gunaah Se Maafi Na Maange To Chaahe Wo Kitne Bhi Ache Kaam Karne Wala Ho Jannat Mei Nahi Jayega Balke Dozaq (Hell) Mei Jaayega.

QURAN 4:48 “Allah Is Gunaah Ko Nahi Bakshe Ga Ke Kisi Ko Uska Shareek Banana Jaaye Aur Uske Siva Aur Gunah Jisko Chaahe Maafi Kardega Aur Jisne Allah Ka Shareek Muqarrar Kiya Usne Bada Bohtan Baandha”.

Aakhir Mei Hum Waris Pathan Ki Shirk Ki Maafi Par “AAMEEN” Kehte Hain.

Foreign Spy arrested in Dubai for stealing Top Secrets

0

Abu Dhabi – A man has been arrested in Dubai on Wednesday on the charges of spying for a foreign entity and stealing UAE’s secrets.

The arrest was made after a tipoff was received from a concerned Emrati about the man’s behavior. The case is likely to undergo speedy trial.

The man has also been charged with attempting to obtain classified information about the UAE.

According to the report, UAE Attorney General, Dr Hamad Saif al-Shamsi, said the public prosecution had received a notification from an Emirati citizen who felt that the man in question had been acting suspiciously.

After conducting their investigations, the tip off checked out and the man was detained. He confessed to the crimes and was promptly referred to court for prosecution, said the report.
