President-elect of Chad is received by the Saudi crown prince.

Riyadh – According to the Saudi Press Agency, on Monday, Mahamat Idriss Déby, the head of the Transitional Military Council of Chad, met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

Along with topics of shared interest, the two talked about bilateral ties and collaboration in all areas.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Minister of State Prince Turki bin Mohammed, and National Security Advisor Musaed Al-Aiban were present during the meeting.

Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, Ahmed Qattan, Advisor to the Royal Court, and Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri, Ambassador of the Kingdom to Chad, were also present.

Chadian officials including Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mahamat Saleh Annadif and his entourage attended the conference.

Over the past few years, the two countries have maintained their collaboration, speaking on the phone and debating topics of interest.

The head of the Transitional Military Council of Chad sent a message to the Saudi Crown Prince on January 23, 2023, about the two nations’ relations.

The call was made while Mahamat Saleh Annadif, the foreign minister of Chad, and Prince Faisal, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, were on a visit.

The two met and talked about their bilateral relationships, potential areas of cooperation, as well as regional and global concerns that bothered them.

On April 27, 2022, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Mahamat Idriss Déby, the head of the transitional military council for Chad.

The current regional and global trends were examined, along with bilateral relations, elements of collaboration in all fields.

Déby was welcomed by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the governor of the Makkah province, when he landed in Jeddah earlier that week.

Through phone talks and in-person meetings, the two nations have frequently discussed how to foster cooperation to advance shared objectives.

On September 14, 2022, Prince Faisal spoke on the phone with Mahamat Zene Cherif, his Chadian counterpart.

Prince Faisal welcomed the call by congratulating the Chadian foreign minister on the accomplishment of his nation’s broad national conversation and wishing Chad and its citizens further security and stability.

Along with reviewing bilateral ties and discussing measures to strengthen them to advance shared objectives, the two also talked and exchanged opinions on regional and global problems of mutual concern.

The two nations have strengthened their alliances to advance the shared goals of their citizens, including efforts in humanitarian aid.

In November 2022, the Ministry of Public Health and National Solidarity in Chad received assistance from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre of Saudi Arabia to help combat and prevent the malaria pandemic.

Both the Kingdom’s ambassador to Chad, Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri, and the Chadian Minister of Public Health and National Solidarity, Dr. Abdelmadjid Abderahim, were present when the aid was handed.
