Hijab-clad Indian fashion designer meets Saudi Princess Reema Al-Saud

Riyadh — The Hijab-clad award-winning Indian fashion-designer Sadaf Samar Khan met Saudi Princess and Ambassador to United States Reema Bint Bandar Al-Saud at Fashion Futures event in Riyadh on Monday.

24-year-old Khan who was born in Jeddah Saudi Arabia tweeted about her achievement and praised Princess Reema that she is “inspirational and beautiful inside out”.

Khan who is a gradute from Darul-Hekma University caught the Saudi-media attention in 2017 when a newly launched Saudi airlines “Fly-a-Deal” awarded her design for its cabin crew members after shortlisting 700 submissions.

The prize she received included free travel with Flyadeal for one year and an assurance to promote her design label through media exposure, mentions on social media and her label on their uniform.

Recently, Khan worked for a Saudi-team to design costumes for an event titled “Tariqatul-Hamiyyah” for Saudi national day celebrations 2019.

Saudi Gazette reported that, one of her collections was presented at the Tresemme Port 16 Fashion Show held in Dar Al Hekma University in Jeddah.

Khan’s latest accomplishment isMasters in Alta Moda (Haute Couture) from Accademia Costume e Moda in Rome, Italy and she showcased a collection in Milan before returning to Saudi Arabia to pursue her career further in Haute Couture with the aim of bringing impeccable craftsmanship and quality to couture dressmaking in Saudi Arabia.
