Riyadh — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reconciled dispute between Yemen’s legitimate government and UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Tuesday in Riyadh to bring peace and stability in Yemen.
The ceremony was attended by Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
“This agreement will open, God willing, broader talks between Yemeni parties to reach a political solution and end the war,” Saudi Crown Prince said during the ceremony.
“The Kingdom is confident the Yemeni people’s wisdom will rise above all challenges”, he added.
He praised Yemeni President and the STC for meeting Saudi Arabia’s call to convene in Riyadh.
He also hailed the United Arab Emirates and its noble sacrifices in Yemen and in the Arab coalition.
The Riyadh agreement will ensure creating job opportunities for Yemenis, paying their overdue salaries, operating state institutions, opening of airports and seaports, providing security in all liberated areas, and restoring control over the remaining areas.

Further, a new cabinet of no more than 24 ministers within 30 days will be formed that would have equal representation for north and south Yemen. Top of that, Military and security forces from both sides, including tens of thousands of UAE-backed STC forces, would be placed under the defense and interior ministries.

UN special envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, congratulated the two sides on the deal which he said would propel efforts to end the wider war.
“The signing of this agreement is an important step for our collective efforts to advance a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Yemen,” he said in a statement.
