Energizing Prosperity: How Trump and the UAE Are Revolutionizing the Energy Landscape

by Michael Arizanti

I firmly believe that both the Trump administration and the UAE’s leadership have been right to challenge the status quo.

In my view, the Trump administration’s bold, unapologetic approach to energy policy has finally paved the way for real progress—an approach mirrored perfectly by the visionary leadership of the UAE under Sultan al-Jaber.

At CERAWeek in Houston, al-Jaber, the dynamic head of Adnoc, delivered a message that resonated with the same no-nonsense, prosperity-first mindset that defined the Trump era.

In a striking moment of clarity, he declared, “It is time to make energy great again,” echoing the call for a return to policies that put energy—and by extension, economic growth—at the forefront of global strategy.

Standing confidently in a sharp suit, adorned with a lapel badge honoring the UAE’s founding father, al-Jaber symbolized the resurgence of pragmatic energy policy. His criticism of the years of misguided climate alarmism, which too often prioritized ideological purity over practical outcomes, is a sentiment I wholeheartedly share.

Just as President Trump cut through the noise to champion America’s energy independence, al-Jaber has stood firm, reminding the world that energy is the very backbone of prosperity.

I firmly believe that both the Trump administration and the UAE’s leadership have been right to challenge the status quo.

While European leaders continue to bicker over divergent policies, it is refreshing to see a shift towards energy realism—a recognition that policies must be rooted in the reality that oil, gas, and innovative technological solutions are essential for economic development.

Instead of imposing unrealistic restrictions that harm developing nations, the approach championed by these leaders embraces the fundamental right to affordable energy, a right that fuels human potential and global development.

Al-Jaber’s dual role—rising above criticism to lead COP28 while advocating for oil and gas companies as indispensable partners—mirrors the kind of pragmatic, results-driven leadership I admire in the Trump administration.

His impressive track record, from founding renewable energy projects to steering the UAE’s vast economic diversification, underscores a commitment to balanced, forward-thinking solutions. As a self-proclaimed “climate realist,” al-Jaber’s stance is a refreshing antidote to the hyperbolic narratives that have long dominated climate discussions.

In my personal opinion, this bold vision is exactly what the world needed.

The energy policies championed by both the Trump administration and the UAE under al-Jaber are not just about profit—they’re about restoring sanity and ensuring that economic growth remains at the heart of global development.

It is high time we embrace an approach that celebrates the undeniable truth: energy is life, and with sensible policies, technological innovation, and a commitment to prosperity, we can create a future where energy truly drives human flourishing.
