Iran arrests foreign national accused of spying for U.S., Israel, state media reports

Dubai,March 10 – Iran’s intelligence ministry has arrested a foreign national it accused of conducting espionage on behalf of the United States and Israel, and acting as a proxy for two Gulf countries, state media reported on Tuesday.

According to statements cited by Iran’s official news agencies, the ministry said the suspect was involved in gathering sensitive information and maintaining contacts with foreign intelligence networks. Authorities did not disclose the nationality of the detainee or provide further details about the alleged operation.

The ministry added that security forces had detained 30 additional individuals in recent days whom it described as spies, internal mercenaries and operational agents linked to the United States and Israel. The arrests were part of what officials called an intensified campaign to dismantle foreign intelligence networks operating inside the country.

Iranian authorities said the alleged network was engaged in activities aimed at undermining national security and collecting strategic information. Officials did not specify the locations of the arrests or whether formal charges had been filed against the suspects.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East and an ongoing confrontation involving Iran, Israel and the United States, which Tehran has repeatedly accused of conducting covert operations inside the Islamic Republic. Western governments have not immediately commented on the claims.
