Abu Dhabi — The renowned Indian Muslim businessman MA Yousuf Ali, the chairman and managing director of Lulu Group on Wednesday announced that he will donate Rs 50 Million for the flood-hit south Indian state of Kerala.
Yousuf Ali conveyed it directly to the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan through a tele-talk and that he’ll be donating the money towards CM’s Distress Relief Fund to help the flood victims of Kerala.
In 2018, he donated Rs 80 million for Kerala flood relief through the same channel and some 5 Million Dirham for the same cause through Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation as well.
Apart from it, Lulu’s employees have collectively donated Rs 100 million to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
UAE-based Gulfnews reported that Yousuf Ali is the first NRI businessman to make an announcement about the donation after floods and landslides that have caused massive destructions and claimed 95 lives in Kerala this year.
