Cairo — Egypt’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday strongly condemned the “irresponsible” and “politicized and immature” accusations of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan who loosely speculated that Morsi wouldn’t have died a natural death.
Egypt’s FM Sameh Hassan Shoukry refuted Erdogan’s accusations in a statement with a strong condemnation of the “repeated and irresponsible accusations” by the Turkish president about Morsi’s death who died on Monday during a court hearing following a heart-attack.
On Wednesday, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafez referred Ergodan’s comments as “politicized and immature”.
Turkish President Erdogan who has had close ties with Mohamed Morsi and his outlawed terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood, tried exploiting Morsi’s death by politicizing the situation, he called Morsi’s death to be “not because of natural causes”.
The 67-year-old Mohamed Morsi – who was under-trial for various criminal cases – passed away in the court. He complained of dizziness and fainted, following which he died a natural death.
