Amman – King Abdullah of Jordan has cancelled his trip to Romania which was scheduled on Monday to show solidarity with Jerusalem and to oppose Romania’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă expressed intentions on Sunday to move her country’s embassy to Jerusalem.
King Abdullah was expected to visit Romania which is currently holding presidency of the Council of the European Union. King was to meet Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and other parliament leaders.
Later, he was scheduled to attend Aqaba Meetings to be hosted by Romania in association with Jordan.
Besides the meetings, Jordanian and Romanian governments were to sign two memorandums to understanding for a joint Jordanian-Romanian business forum.
