Dammam – Saudi Arabia on Thursday reopened the Bahrain bridge or King Fahd cause-way that links the Kingdom and the brotherly country Bahrain, allowing its citizens to return to the Kingdom without a prearranged permit, officials said.
The 25-km-long cause-way was closed on March 7 as a part of measures take by the Kingdom to fight the spread of coronavirus.
However, the Saudi Embassy in Bahrain announced that the Saudis arriving in Bahrain airport will have to go through a 10-day quarantine.
In 2019, around 9.7 million visitors out of 11.1 million total visitors to Bahrain traveled only through the cause-way, which means around 88% visitors used this service.
The reopening of the cause-way is expected to rebound the economies of both the countries.
