Pak Islamic Scholars denounce Trump’s remarks against Saudi Arabia, pledge support

Lahore – Pakistan’s Islamic scholars on Thursday have denounced the derogatory statements of Donald Trump against Saudi Arabia that ‘Saudi can’t survive for two weeks without US support’.

The scholars addressed a conference, convened by Sheikh Taher Mahmoud Al-Ashrafi, president of Pakistan Scholars Council, in cooperation with Pakistan Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah Federation.

The conference, under the theme of “Unity of the Islamic Ummah” was held to mark the 88th Saudi National Day at the Lahore Press Club on Thursday.

Trump made derogatory remarks against Saudi Arabia, Japan, China, and South Korea in his election campaign in Southaven Mississippi on Tuesday.

Qatari and Iranian press agencies highlighted the harsh remarks against Saudi Arabia to make it appear mockery of the Kingdom.

They pledged support to Saudi Arabia since the Kingdom is pivotal to the Islamic Ummah.
“Saudi Arabia is a strong country that does not need anyone to defend it. Moreover, the Islamic Ummah would stand by the Kingdom to ensure the security of the Two Holy Mosques.”

Moulana Ashrafi detested the attempts of the Houthi militias to target the security of the Two Holy Mosques as part of an international Iranian conspiracy aimed at undermining the security and unity of the Islamic Ummah.

“The Islamic Ummah would stand with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman whom it considers as its leader and supports his decisions.”

They praised the heroic efforts and bravery of the Saudi armed forces in defending the Kingdom, which is hosting the Two Holy Mosques.

Trump’s remarks drew harsh criricisms on social media but no country has responded officially.

Washington – America’s top intelligence service agency – CIA – Central Intelligence Agency, in its recent edition of the ‘World Factbook’, has named the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal as “religious militant organisations”.

The agency has categorized them under “political pressure groups”, defined as organisations that are involved in politics or that exert political pressure but whose leaders do not stand for legislative election.

CIA also lists the Hindu right-wing militant group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Kashmir’s separatist militant group Hurriyat among the political pressure groups in India.

Every year, CIA publishes a World Factbook which provides factual reference material on a country or issue to the US government. This factual references are written on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues.

CIA has been publishing this material since 1962, but it became public only after 1975. The material helps US policymakers and intelligence community.

Presenter of the late-90’s show India’s Most Wanted acquitted in wife’s murder case

0

New Delhi – The presenter of late-90’s popular fugitive hunter TV show India’s Most Wanted has been acquitted by Delhi High Court on Friday in his wife’s murder case.

The 52-years-old TV producer and presenter – Suhaib Ilyasi – was arrested on March 28th 2000 for stabbing his wife Anju to death on 11th January 2000 at their residence in East Delhi.

A bench of Justice S Muralidhar and Justice Vinod Goel set aside the trial court order convicting Ilyasi, holding there was no evidence against him and that the prosecution too failed to establish the murder charges.

The bench accepted the arguments of Ilyasi’s advocates Rajiv Mohan and Abhimanyu Kampani that the trial court had reached the conclusion of guilt of the accused based on conjectures and the conviction was not supported by material on record.

Ilyasi claimed that the police had not collected any material for three months after the incident and there was no evidence to charge him for the offence of murder. The police had claimed he had misled the investigating agency.

He was taken into custody on December 16th 2017 after his conviction, contended in his plea that after framing of additional charge under Section 302 of the IPC for the offence of murder, he was not given an opportunity to cross-examine all the witnesses.

The trial court sentenced Ilyasi to life term on December 20th 2017 for stabbing his wife to death, saying he “committed murder and gave it a color of suicide”.

It also imposed a fine of rupees Two hundred thousand on him and directed that rupees ten hundred thousand be paid as compensation to Anju’s parents.

He was arrested after his sister-in-law and mother-in-law alleged that he used to torture his wife for dowry.

Morrocon Widow shelters abandoned Cancer Patients in her house

    0

Rabat – A Morrocon widow has converted her house into a shelter to welcome abandoned cancer patients who cannot afford expensive lodging in the city.
Khadija Ayad Al-Qorti, 72, founded the Jannat Association in 2009, a few months after her husband died of cancer.
The association provides free accommodation for patients and their families, free transport to Rabat’s oncology center and free meals for the duration of their stay.
She cares for 15 women in her home, and rents a flat nearby to house a further 15.
Hassania Khayati, 45, has breast cancer and has been staying in the shelter on and off since September 2017. She hails from Ksar El Kebir in north Morocco and has no family in Rabat.
“We could not find anyone doing what the people in this association are doing for us. Even our relatives could not take care of us because we are poor,” she said.
Qorti still relies on her late husband’s pension — roughly 450 Moroccan dirhams ($47.50) — to fund the charity work. Such is the success and importance of her shelter that local government and private donors now contribute to her association to help her afford the 4,000 Moroccan dirhams ($422) rent.
The number of cancer cases is steadily rising in Morocco, and 40,000 new patients are registered each year in the country, official figures show.
“People may receive you and help you for a week or ten days but not more. We have been here for two months now… They help us with medicine and transport, we thank Allah for this,” said Aziza Boulouika, a relative of a patient. — Reuters

Killers of Junaid lynching case are all granted bail

In June 2017, a 17-year-old Muslim boy was stabbed to death. The incident happened when the boy, Hafiz Junaid Khan along with his brothers was returning home to Khandawli village in Ballabgarh, Uttar Pradesh after shopping for Eid in Delhi.

The youth along his brother had boarded a Mathura-bound train when an argument over a seat turned into a religious slur that eventually took Junaid’s life. In just more than a year, all the accused who lynched Junaid are all out on the bail.

On Wednesday the main accused of Junaid Khan lynching case, also the last one in the jail was granted interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

According to The Indian Express, the accused, Naresh Kumar was in the judicial custody since July 8, 2017. The order for his interim bail was passed by Justice Daya Chaudhary.

As per the Court, he was granted bail after the Supreme Court had put a stay order on the proceedings of the case before the trial Court. His bail plea was approved after accused’s lawyer urged the Court that he has been in the jail for more than a year and which is why he should be getting interim bail.

Earlier on June 7, a Session Court had dismissed Naresh’s bail plea stating that the charges against him are serious in nature and in case he is granted a bail “there is every possibility for pressurising of the prosecution witnesses”.

The court also pointed out that mere long custody does not make the accused entitled to bail.

The accused, Naresh is facing charges under Sections 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person), 323 voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 341 (wrongful restraint), 301 (culpable homicide), 302 (murder) and other provisions of IPC before the trial court.

The other five accused were also granted bail earlier this year. According to The Times of India, in March, Rameshwar Dass (52) one of the six men who had been arrested in the case was also granted bail. Naresh and Dass, who is a Health Inspector in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, are the main accused in the case.

“Even as per the FIR, I was not shown to be involved in the said fight as it was stated to be between the victim and two to three boys who were travelling in the same coach of the train. Even otherwise, the role attributed to me was similar to that of the three other accused who have already been granted bail,” Dass had told the Court.

    A father lost his 17-year-old

On June 22, 2017, when the Junaid was returning to his home a few men who were also travelling in the same coach started an altercation with Junaid and his brother on the Mathura-bound train. The argument started over a seat turned violent. Junaid’s two brothers had told the police that the attackers first threw Junaid’s skull cap and then started to call them “anti-nationals” and “beef eaters”.

The attackers then caught their beards and taunted them with terms such as “mulla”, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The incident took Junaid’s life who was a student of Islamic studies in Surat then. His brothers Md Mausin (16), Md Moin (18) and Hashim (20) also got injured in the case.

Woman gangraped and filmed at Holy Ganga River, Police refuse FIR until video goes viral

Patna – A 45-years-old woman was gangraped raped and filmed at River Ganga – a Hindu sanctuary in Patna on Monday, when she went to take religious dip.

Officials said two men, including the person who captured the crime on video and later shared it on social media, have been arrested.

The viral video showed the woman pleading to the accused and asking them to consider the “sanctity” of the Ganga, which she addressed as “mother”.

Local villagers alleged that when the woman reached the concerned police station to lodge her complaint against the culprits, the policemen refused to register FIR.

Police took the case seriously only when they found the viral video on social media, and superintendent of police (rural) Anand Kumar took up the case to monitor it.

Police commented that woman was dragged out of the river by a man named Shivpujan Mahto, a driver, and took turns to rape her along with others.

Police have arrested the accused and also rescued a minor girl whom Mahto had lured into accompanying him.

Togadia predicts failure of BJP in 2019: Modi advocated Muslim Women, but has forgotten our issue

Bhubaneswar – Former VHP leader and chief of Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) – Praveen Togadia – said on Wednesday at AHP’s state meeting that BJP will not return to power in 2019.

He called for a non-BJP Hindu Government that will construct Ram temple at Ayodhya and solve unemployment issues, plight of farmers, inflation issue and makes complete development of the country.

Togadia expressed anger at Modi for the failure to build Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“But they did not work on the issue after getting full majority. If they leave everything to the court for Ram
temple issue, why they are in the government? The Centre can bring a law or ordinance to form the Ram temple at Ayodhya,” he added.

“Jab chunaab aata hai, tab mandir yaad aata hai? I have been listening this during last three decades. Several governments have promised to construct Ram temple, but they change their stand after forming the government,” he added.

“Our prime minister has started advocating for Muslim women. He has forgotten our issues,” he added.

BJP’s state vice president Samir Mohanty said Togadia is not an astrologer to predict the failure of BJP Government in 2019.

A 78-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces, on Tuesday, east of the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central besieged Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Wednesday, that 78-year-old Palestinian, Ibrahim Ahmad Nassar al-Arouqi, was shot and killed with two live bullets fired by Israeli forces on Tuesday.

The ministry confirmed the news after several hours of investigation, that took place after al-Arouqi was shot on Tuesday, to determine that the bullet was Israeli.

According to the ministry, since “The Great March of Return” began on March 30, 193 Palestinians were killed, including 34 children, and 21,150 Palestinians were injured, including 4,200 children and 1,950 women, of whom 5,300 were injured due to Israeli live ammunition, while 464 of the injured were in serious condition.

“The Great March of Return” protests were launched by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza — which has suffered from a decade-long Israeli siege — who took to the borders to demand their right of return as refugees to their original homelands, now in present-day Israel.

Careers for Fresh Civil Engineering Graduates

    0

Civil engineering is a profession that will perhaps never be out of demand. Students studying civil engineering learn the basics of structure, material, design, construction and stability.

As a Fresh graduate Civil Engineer, you can find work in a range of sectors, particularly in the construction sector, on buildings, large scale structures, transportations and etc., The common career path for graduates is to join an engineering firm and subsequently work on projects to build houses, dams, buildings, canals, bridges and other structures, it is said that there is no single typical career path for civil engineers as such.

Most engineering graduates start with jobs involving low responsibility, and as they prove their competence, they are given more and more responsible tasks. Yet, the details of a career path vary within each subfield of civil engineering, and even within different segments of each branch. In some cases, entry-level engineers may be asked to monitor construction in the field, serving as the “eyes and ears” of more senior design engineers.

In other cases, entry-level engineers may be required to perform the more routine tasks involved in analysis or design. As they gain seniority, the engineers move into doing more complex analysis or design, manage more complexly designed projects, manage other engineers, or perform specialized consulting. However, there are many unique opportunities that students fail to explore.

If your contemporary graduate course does not include an industrial training or placement, look for relevant work experience and placements. Any kind of role in a construction or civil engineering setting will allow you to build your understanding of issues related to the planning and execution of projects. Casual, hands-on construction work and administrative jobs may be available, but many employers offer structured work experience opportunities.

Requirements to step into the construction sector as a fresh civil engineer graduate

Academic Requirements: Education, Experience, Internship, Additional Courses, Software applications, Certifications, Licensure, and Associations.

Employers or companies hiring civil engineers basically require candidates with a bachelors or diploma in civil engineering depending upon their requirement, preference will be given to the candidates with experience if not fresh graduates with specialization in the same field as the company, additional courses will help engineers crack interviews based upon learning, basic software applications like AutoCAD and MS office are required, as the career path grows engineers are required to learn software’s related to the stream that the company is dealing with, for example if it’s a structural company, they need to learn STAAD, Etabs etc.

Certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) increase the scope of growth to managerial level on career front, licensures from local municipalities will help in incorporating own company or becoming a licensed engineer for approving plans or drawings of private firms with standards of local governing authorities or public projects, associations with different organizations can provide platform for distinguished practitioners to collaborate, work together and solve the challenges faced by the profession.

Required Skills: Technical, Visualization, Communication, Reasoning, Decision Making, Leadership and Management Skills.

I analyzed some general specializations for fresh civil engineering graduates to explore job opportunities.

Disciplines in Civil Engineering: Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying and Remote Sensing, Seismic / Earthquake, Marine, Pre Fab, Materials, etc.

    • Documentation or Administration
    • Teaching

Employment of civil engineers is projected to grow 11 percent over the next ten years, faster than the average for all occupations. As current Indian infrastructure experiences growing obsolescence, civil engineers will be needed to manage projects to rebuild, repair, and upgrade bridges, roads, levees, dams, airports, buildings, and other structures, Civil engineers will continue to play a key part in all of this work.

Although state and local governments continue to face financial challenges and may have difficulty funding projects, some delayed projects will have to be completed to build and maintain critical infrastructure, as well as to protect the public and the environment.

Candidates who gain experience by doing internship programs while in college will have the best opportunities. In addition, Engineers equipped with technical knowledge, skills and latest software developments are in ample demand for construction sector. Therefore those who enter the occupation not just with a graduate degree but with skills, technical ability and desired software’s will likely have better prospect.
