Tehran – A top member of the Iranian council that advises dictator Ali Khameini died due to the novel coronavirus on Monday, Iranian state radio reported.
71-year-old Mohammad Mir Mohammadi was a member of Expediency Council that advises dictator Khameini, as well as settles disputes between the dictator and the Iranian parliament.
Mohammadi was suffering with the coronavirus for the past few weeks, and due to lack of proper medical facilities in Iran, he scummed to death.
Iran’s former ambassador to Vatican and Khomeini’s former representative in the Ministry of Islamic Guidance Sayyed Hojatol Eslam Hadi Khosroshai died on Thursday due to coronavirus.
Other Iranian officials, including Iran’s deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi, and vice-president of women affairs, Ebtekar Masouneh have tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to a preliminary analysis by Canadian researchers quoted by IranWire, the true number of coronavirus cases in Iran may be upwards of 18,000.
