Makkah — Saudi Government will be hosting Hajj pilgrims of families of victims of the New Zealand Christchurch terrorist attack, Islamic Affairs Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abulaziz Al-Asheikh, the minister of Islamic Affairs said the hosting of the families during the Hajj season was part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to “confront and defeat terrorism” in all forms, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
“Saudi embassy in New Zealand is working to ensure the invitees have everything they need to perform Hajj during their visit,” Minister added.
The Christchurch mosque shooting were two consecutive terrorist shooting attacks at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday Prayer on March 15. The attacks began at the Al Noor Mosque in the suburb of Riccarton and continued at the Linwood Islamic Centre killing about 50 Muslims.
