Riyadh – Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended five daily prayers and Friday prayers inside the mosques until further notice as a part of efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus, state news agency SPA reported on Tuesday.
However, the report added that the prayers will continue only at the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina.
The decision is backed by Council of Senior Scholars, the kingdom’s highest religious body.
Islamic religious scholars said that it’s permissible for the able-bodied men to pray at home during the times of crisis.
