London’s High-profile Indian banker suspended for stealing food from office canteen

Canary Wharf – London’s Citigroup suspended a high-profile Indian banker for stealing food from the office canteen at its headquarters in Canary Wharf, London.

31-year-old Paras Shah, who was apparently earning seven-digit salary in British pounds which is equivalent to 9.2 Crore in Indian rupees, was suspended after he was found stealing food from office canteen.

Financial Times reported that, Shah abruptly left his post last month as Citi’s head of high-yield bond trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, after being accused of food theft.

While’s Shah’s former colleagues said, “He was a well-liked and successful trader,” quoted by Financial Times.

Shah joined Citigroup in 2017 after working for HSBC for seven years. However, when Shah was contacted by the media, he directed all questions fo the group, while the group declined to comments on the matter.
