Car bomb kills 17 and wounds 20 people in Turkish-occupied Syria

Istanbul – A car bomb in Turkish-occupied northern Syria on Tuesday killed at least 17 people and wounded 20 others, Turkish defense ministry confirmed.

The Turkish ministry’s official Twitter account blamed the Syrian Kurdish fighters for the attack in Tal Halaf village that falls on the west of Ras Al-Ayn city which Turkey occupied in October during its military offensive.

“Thousands have fled the Ras al-Ain area and Tal Abyad’s countryside to areas that have not yet been hit by Ankara’s warplanes,” Al-Arabiya quoted a UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) organization during the Turkish military actions against Syrians.

Turkish president Tayyib Erdogan made separate deals with Moscow and Washington last month to remove the Kurdish-led YPG militia from a swathe of land in northeast Syria bordering Turkey, which in return stopped its military offensive against the militia.
