Hyderabad — Saudi Government paid 9.5 Million rupees to an Indian man from Hyderabad city as a compensation for the injuries he received due to the crane accident during Hajj-2015. Home Minister of Telangana handed over the cheque during a public gathering on Saturday.

Sheikh Mujeeb, a resident of Talabkatta an old city part of Hyderabad, who works as a street hawker went on the annual Hajj pilgrimage in 2015. The cranes installed in the Haram mosque fell unto him and other pilgrims accidentally, due to which he received serious injuries.

Saudi Arabia announced a huge compensation for the family members of the deceased pilgrims and those who were injured.

Mujeeb returned to Hyderabad and couldn’t follow up with the procedures.

In the meantime, Chiarman of the Telangana Hajj Committee, Mohammed Masiullah Khan followed up closely with the Saudi Embassy to ensure the accident victims get their compensation.

“Janab Masiullah Sahab sent me a private car, and called me in his office. He supported me more than my relatives, and followed my case closely to get my compensation,” Mujeeb told the local media.

Home Minister of Telangana Mahmood Ali said that, “Mujeeb received a cheque of 135 thousand USD which is around 95 Lakhs rupees and we thank Saudi Government for the generous gesture.”

“Masiullah Khan Sahab handled this case very diligently in order to get the compensation amount for Mujeeb,” the Home Minister added.
