Jeddah – According to the Jordan News Agency, Jordan’s Queen Rania attended the 22nd Bizat Al-Reeh exhibition’s opening on Monday at Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Stadium.
The National Charity Foundation for Home Healthcare, whose chairwoman Princess Adila bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud is, will receive donations from the six-day event organised under her patronage.
Abeer Qabbani, vice president of the foundation, greeted the queen and said that her presence added value to the exhibition and underscored its global reach, as shown by the significant international presence this year.
The Saudi Ministry of Culture hosted Bizat Al-Reeh, which welcomes at least 170 local and regional participants from more than 15 nations, as a part of the Kingdom’s Ramadan celebrations.
At this year’s festival, Jordan River Designs was making its debut with a collection of handcrafted antiques.
Home furnishings, jewellery, cuisine, and fashion items are among the other objects on display, and a number of activities let visitors interact with exhibits and artwork.
Queen Rania also went to the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, which was organised by the non-profit Diriyah Biennale Foundation, which was set up in 2020 by the Ministry of Culture.
Aya Al-Bakree, the chief executive officer of the foundation, gave the queen a tour of the gallery, which showcases more than 300 works of art, including about 200 locally produced heritage items and about 40 works produced by international institutions that include priceless historical artefacts from the Two Holy Mosques.
The first edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, titled “Awwal Bait” (“First House”) in honour of the Kaaba in Makkah, includes more than 60 established and up-and-coming artists from around the globe, at least 60 new commissions, 280 artefacts, and 15 works that are being shown for the first time.
As part of her 500-woman Ramadan Umrah journey, the Jordanian princess also performed Umrah in Makkah and hosted an iftar dinner for a number of Jordanian ladies.
