Saudi Aid Agency KSrelief Launches Environmental Sanitation Projects in Yemen’s Marib Governorate

Date:

Riyadh – Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian aid agency, KSrelief, has initiated seven environmental sanitation projects in Yemen’s Marib governorate, aimed at providing critical support to displaced individuals and the local community.

Collaborating with UNICEF, KSrelief is focused on establishing and renovating water systems, upgrading sanitation facilities, and distributing essential resources to those in need.

One of the key initiatives involves the establishment and renovation of water systems in Marib, in cooperation with UNICEF.

Furthermore, the sanitation system at the community college camp for displaced individuals will receive significant upgrades. In Harib, projects will focus on renovating the water system, main water tank, and line pump. These efforts are expected to positively impact approximately 145,000 displaced individuals and members of the host community.

Abd-Rabbu Miftah, the deputy governor of Marib, lauded the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts through KSrelief, emphasizing the significance of these projects in alleviating the suffering of those in need in Yemen. The initiatives are a testament to the commitment of Saudi Arabia and KSrelief in supporting displaced and affected families in Marib.

In addition to the environmental sanitation projects, KSrelief has extended its assistance to Yemeni fishermen in the Al-Mahrah governorate. As part of an emergency assistance project implemented in collaboration with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, KSrelief distributed fishing equipment, including containers and life vests, to 3,000 fishermen. This initiative aims to enhance the local market’s supply of high-quality products while improving the living conditions of the fishermen.

Recently, KSrelief successfully concluded the three-day Saudi Pulse campaign at Al-Ghaydah Central Hospital in the Al-Mahrah governorate.

The campaign provided diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization procedures, as well as open-heart surgery, to more than 20 patients daily. Mohammed Ali Yasser, the governor of Al-Mahrah, expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom’s organization of such campaigns and its commitment to assisting patients in the governorate.

Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief continues to prioritize humanitarian aid efforts in Yemen, extending support to various sectors and communities. These initiatives not only address immediate needs but also contribute to long-term development and stability in the region.
