Indian NSA Ajit Doval is “an international treasure,” according to US Ambassador Garcetti

Date:

New Delhi – The US ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, hailed Ajit Doval and commended his humble upbringing, calling him an international treasure.

Garcetti said of Doval, who was raised in a rural and came from poor beginnings, “India’s NSA has not only become a national treasure but an international treasure.”

Speaking at the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) conference in Delhi, Garcetti said, “When I look at the foundation between the United States and India, it is so strong, it is so clear that Indians love Americans and Americans love Indians.”

An ambitious strategy for Indo-US cooperation in seven distinct high-technology fields, including semiconductors, next-generation telephony, artificial intelligence, and military, was launched on Tuesday by Doval and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan.

Sullivan stated that both sides are considering a number of “deliverables” during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Washington, D.C., which are fundamentally designed to “remove obstacles” for a deeper cooperation in the areas of defence, high technology, trade, and a greater exchange of students. Sullivan’s comments followed the roadmap’s announcement at an event.

At the second Track-1.5 meeting on the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), which was held by industrial association CII, the roadmap for partnership was announced.

A number of the objectives during that visit are not merely bullet points on a page, as we anticipate the State visit that Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi will make to Washington next week.

They are primarily intended to remove barriers in the high-tech and defence industries as well as to remove barriers that have prevented our scientists and researchers from working together more effectively, according to Sullivan.

The US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Modi made a significant announcement when they unveiled the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) in May of last year. The goal of the initiative is to strengthen and broaden the strategic relationship in technology and industrial defence collaboration between the two nations.

The framework underwent formal movement in January.

Doval stated that the iCET will give the strategic ties between India and the United States an orbital leap.

In sectors including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, 5G and 6G, biotech, spaceflight, and semiconductors, the iCET is anticipated to strengthen ties between the governments, academic institutions, and businesses of the two nations.
