On Camera: Delhi man opens fire while Police watch as fresh clashes break out in India

Date:

New Delhi – In a disturbing video published by NDTV on Monday shows a man waving gun at the anti-CAA protestors and opening fire in air in the presence of Police in India’s capital city of New Delhi.

Voilent clashes broke out second time on less than 24 hours in the Bhajanpura, Maujpur and Jaffrabad neighbourhoods of northeast Delhi this morning between the groups for and against the controversial Citizenship law.

Indian government under Prime Minister Modi passed the controversial bill in parliament in December 2019. The law paves the way for minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to get Indian citizenship, but the critics say it is biased against Muslims, since it’s only applicable for Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis, while the Muslim migrants are detained.
