New Delhi — Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, is expected to visit India for a six-day trip, starting from July 10. He is likely to meet the NSA chief, ministers of External and Minority affairs, and top religious leaders.
According to Asian News International (ANI) report, Dr. Al-Issa will have a one-on-one meeting with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Additionally, he will address a gathering of religious and community leaders, academics, and media at the India Islamic Cultural Centre.
The Khusro Foundation has invited him to speak at the BS Abdur Rahman Auditorium on July 11.
Dr. Al-Issa is also expected to meet with India’s Minister for External Affairs, S Jaishankar, as well as Minister for Minority Affairs Smriti Irani. He may also call on the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
During his trip, he will visit the Vivekanand International Foundation to interact with a group of faith leaders. He may also visit the Akshardham Temple and meet with prominent personalities. He will also pay tributes at National Police Memorial.
As a leading voice for moderate Islam and an advocate for interfaith dialogue and world peace, Dr. Al-Issa is a prominent religious leader, Islamic scholar, and reformist from Saudi Arabia. Before being appointed as the Secretary General of the Muslim World League in 2016, he served as the Minister of Justice in the Saudi Cabinet.
As the Secretary General, he has worked to build partnerships and strengthen relations between diverse communities, faiths, and nations.
He is also the chairman of the Centre for Responsible Leadership, a group of influential leaders from government, faith, media, business, and community sectors working together to solve global challenges.
During his stay in New Delhi, Dr. Al-Issa will also visit the Jama Masjid Delhi for Friday Prayers and travel to Agra.
Dr. Al-Issa’s visit to India holds significant importance in terms of promoting interfaith dialogue, building partnerships and strengthening relations between diverse communities and faiths.
His visit provides an opportunity for India to engage with an influential Islamic scholar and reformist from Saudi Arabia and to discuss issues related to religious harmony, peace, and cooperation.
Additionally, his meetings with high-level officials and prominent personalities in India can further enhance diplomatic ties between the two countries.
