Srinagar — A rumoured Pakistani intrusion was neutralized by the India’s Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday at the International Border (IB) in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred at around 2:50 am in the Samba sector, near the Mangu Chak Border Out Post (BOP).
According to reports, BSF personnel who had crossed the International Border (IB) into the Samba area from the Pakistan side spotted an intruder. Despite several warnings, the intruder allegedly ignored them and was subsequently shot dead by the jawans near the barrier.
The BSF released a statement saying, “In the early hours of June 1, 2023, the alert BSF troops noticed a suspicious movement of a person who crossed the IB from the Pakistan side in the Samba area.”
The BSF, responsible for overseeing the 3,323 km border between India and Pakistan, stated that despite facing resistance from the troops, the intruder persisted in advancing towards the border fencing.
“The soldiers opened fire on him, killing him. More information is being gathered,” the BSF continued. The body was lying in the forward region, thus the BSF started a search operation along the IB in the Samba sector.
