<p><strong>Riyadh —</strong> Saudi Arabia&#8217;s senior and prestigious religious scholar, Sheikh Saleh Al-Luhaidan, passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.</p>



<p>90-years-old, Sheikh Al-Luhaidan was born in the city of Bukayriyah in the Qassim region, and held several positions, including a member of the Council of Senior Scholars since its establishment, a member of the Muslim World League, and the former head of the Supreme Judicial Council.</p>



<p>He also served as editor-in-chief of the “Raya al-Islam” magazine, and served as a secretary to the head of scientific research and official Ifta &#8211; Fatwa Committee of Saudi Arabia.</p>



<p>Below is the timeline of this works and achievements:</p>



<ul><li>He graduated from the Faculty of Sharee&#8217;ah in Riyadh during 1959-60.</li><li>He worked as a secretary for his eminence the former Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibraheem.</li><li>He was appointed as an assistant to the president of the Supreme Court in Riyadh during 1964-65.</li><li>He became the president of the Supreme Court in Riyadh during 1964-65.</li><li>He obtained a Masters Degree from the Higher Institution of Justice during 1969-70.</li><li>He was appointed as a member of the Supreme Committee of Judicial Affairs during 1970-71.</li><li>He was appointed as a member of The Committee of Major Scholars since it was established during 1972-73.</li><li>He became the president of the Permanent Supreme Committee of Judicial Affairs during 1983-84.</li><li>During 1992-93 he was appointed president of both the General and the Permanent Commitees.</li><li>He is a member of Muslim World League.</li></ul>



<p>Muslim scholars and students on social media mourned his death and prayed for him.</p>



<p>Sheikh Al-Luhaidan’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at Riyadh’s Jamiah Al Rajihi mosque, after Asr prayers (2:59 pm). </p>
