The urgent shipment from Kingdom’s eastern province Dammam to Mundra port in Gujarat state of India, is being undertaken in coordination with India’s Adani group and Linde company.

Indian Embassy in Riyadh tweeted, “Embassy of India is proud to partner with Adani group and M/s Linde in shipping much needed 80MT liquid oxygen to India. Our heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Health Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for all their help, support and cooperation”.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Adani Group Gautam Adani, hailed Saudi Arabia’s support and said, “Indeed, actions speak louder than words”.

Adani also thanked Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ausaf Saeed for promptly acting, and coordinating between the two countries.

Due to the sudden surge in coronavirus cases in India by 349,691 in the past 24 hours, the hospitals in the capital city of Delhi, and across the country are running out of beds and the life-saving gas. Patients have to wait in the queue, while some of the them are made to rest on the floor.

In order to fill the gap, the Indian government has started diverting oxygen supplies from industrial uses to hospitals. Even this move does not fulfill the requirement.

Besides Saudi Arabia, India has also received oxygen from Singapore.
