<p><strong>Jeddah — </strong>Under Saudi Arabia&#8217;s King Salman Al-Saud, Russia-Islamic World meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) will take place on Wednesday in the Jeddah city.</p>



<p>The theme of the meeting will be &#8220;Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation&#8221;, which will include a broad participation of officials, scholars, and intellectuals from the Russian Federation and Islamic countries to discuss common issues and the prospects of cooperation in confronting the existing challenges.</p>



<p>The GSV comprises of 33 state and public figures from 27 Muslim countries, which also includes former prime ministers, former ministers of foreign affairs, and many religious figures from the Islamic world.</p>



<p>Russia has been making efforts to strengthen its relations with the Islamic world, and this meeting comes to bridge the gaps between the followers of different religions and cultures.</p>



<p>The Group was established in 2006 under the supervision of Evgeny Maksimovich Primakov and Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev after the Russian Federation joined the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as an observer member. Currently, the group will focus on developing measures to strengthen a long-term cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries.</p>

<p><strong>Jeddah — </strong>Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) released a statement on Saturday that Kashmir dispute has had an internationally recognized status, and while calling for immediate lifting of the curfew and restoration of the communication in the region.</p>



<p>The General Secretarait of OIC Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed al-Othaimeen reiterated the OIC&#8217;s position on the Kashmir dispute and expressed full support for the Kashmiri people, Arab News reported.</p>



<p>He reaffirmed Kashmir&#8217;s position on a UN-supervised plebiscite in the region. </p>



<p>In a statement on the Kashmir dispute and he stressed the need for resumption of dialogue between nuclear-armed neighbors Pakistan and India.</p>



<p>He said that the dialog between India and Pakistan is a prerequisite for development, peace and stability in South Asia.</p>



<p>“The General Secretariat reaffirms the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on the internationally recognized status of Jammu and Kashmir dispute and its final disposition through a UN-supervised plebiscite,” it said and called for the “immediate lifting of the curfew, restoration of communication and the respect for the fundamental rights of Kashmiris,&#8221; the statement read.</p>



<p>Modi Government in India revoked Article-370 and Article-35A in Kashmir, with an immediate curfew and complete communication blackout. The move has incurred international repurcussions.</p>
