Beirut-Hezbollah said on Saturday that its fighters confronted Israeli troops during what it described as an overnight infiltration attempt toward the Ali Taher hills, a strategic elevated area overlooking the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, amid continuing tensions despite a ceasefire agreement.

In a statement, the Iran-backed group said Israeli forces attempted to advance toward the hills under the cover of the ceasefire. Hezbollah said its fighters ambushed the troops and engaged them with what it described as “appropriate weapons,” forcing a confrontation in the area.

The group did not provide details on casualties or the duration of the clash, and there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on Hezbollah’s account.

Hezbollah said the incident demonstrated its determination to respond to any perceived violation of Lebanese territory while maintaining its commitment to the existing ceasefire arrangement.

“While it is committed to the ceasefire, it will not be lenient in confronting any enemy attempt to expand its occupation,” the group said in its statement.

The reported confrontation occurred near Nabatieh, a key city in southern Lebanon that has frequently been affected by hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. The Ali Taher hills are considered strategically significant because of their elevated position overlooking surrounding areas.

The claim came hours after reports of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, where smoke was seen rising from areas around Nabatieh. The latest developments underscore the fragility of the ceasefire and the continuing risk of renewed escalation along the Israel-Lebanon frontier.

Neither side immediately released independent verification of the events described by Hezbollah.

Beirut-Lebanese authorities on Monday warned people displaced by months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah not to return home immediately

Beirut-Lebanese authorities on Monday warned people displaced by months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah not to return home immediately despite a US-Iran agreement aimed at ending the wider regional conflict.

Officials said Lebanon had not been informed of the details or timeline of the agreement, which includes a call for military operations to end across multiple fronts.

An official source said Lebanon was not aware of the specific terms of the ceasefire arrangement, while few details of the deal had been made public.

The conflict’s spillover into Lebanon has caused widespread displacement, with around 1.2 million people forced from their homes during the Israeli offensive against Hezbollah.

Municipal authorities in southern Lebanon urged residents to postpone returns, citing continued uncertainty over security conditions. Israel has said it will not withdraw troops from parts of southern Lebanon.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel would maintain security zones in southern Lebanon, Gaza and Syria, and warned that Israel would respond to any attacks linked to Iran.

Lebanon’s conflict escalated after Hezbollah began attacks against Israel in support of Tehran, drawing a major military response and causing extensive damage in southern areas.

The US-Iran agreement was announced after more than three months of conflict. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a mediator between Washington and Tehran, said the deal called for an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.

In southern Lebanon, displaced residents expressed caution about returning. Some said they feared security conditions remained uncertain despite the diplomatic breakthrough.

The agreement’s implementation and further negotiations are expected to determine whether displaced communities can safely return to their homes.

Jerusalem-Israel’s defense minister said Monday that Israeli forces would remain in security zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza for an unlimited period, hours after the United States and Iran announced an agreement aimed at ending the regional conflict.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government had adopted a policy under which the Israel Defense Forces would stay in the areas to protect Israeli borders and communities.Katz said the deployment was intended to counter threats from armed groups and warned Iran that Israel would respond with full force if attacked in connection with the conflict in Lebanon.

The statement came after Washington and Tehran announced a deal calling for an end to military operations, including fighting linked to Lebanon.Lebanon has urged displaced residents not to return immediately, saying details of the agreement remain unclear and security conditions are still uncertain.

The Israeli government has maintained that its forces must continue operating in strategic areas, while regional actors continue diplomatic efforts following months of escalating conflict.

The developments come as the Middle East faces ongoing security tensions involving Israel, Iran, Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.

Beirut- Lebanon’s state media reported Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Saturday shortly after the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings for around 20 locations, including areas near the city of Nabatieh, warning residents to leave ahead of anticipated raids.

The National News Agency (NNA) said strikes hit multiple areas covered by the warning, including the villages of Rihan and Sujud, which lie near Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.

Earlier, the Israeli military ordered residents to evacuate their homes immediately and move north of the Zahrani River for their safety, citing the presence of Hezbollah-linked infrastructure in the area.

“Anyone who is in the vicinity of Hezbollah installations or means of warfare is endangering their lives,” Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a post on social media platform X.

The evacuation order covered 20 locations across southern Lebanon and came amid ongoing Israeli military operations in the region, which Israel has described as targeting Hezbollah positions.

Lebanese authorities have repeatedly warned that expanded evacuation zones and strikes are worsening humanitarian conditions in the south, where thousands have been displaced in recent months.

The latest strikes follow a pattern of near-daily exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah-linked forces, despite international calls for de-escalation and efforts to restore a ceasefire framework.

There were no immediate reports of casualties from Saturday’s strikes, and the situation in the affected areas remained fluid, according to Lebanese state media.

Jenin- Israeli forces demolished 20 Palestinian homes in the town of Barta’a near Jenin in the occupied West Bank on

Jenin- Israeli forces demolished 20 Palestinian homes in the town of Barta’a near Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Monday, displacing around 100 residents after authorities carried out a court-ordered demolition over alleged permit violations.

Israeli bulldozers entered Barta’a to execute the demolition order issued a day earlier, according to the Palestine News Agency. Residents said only eight families managed to remove their belongings before the operation began, while others refused to evacuate their possessions.

Witnesses said residents protested by climbing onto rooftops of the targeted homes in an attempt to prevent the demolitions. Israeli forces later removed the protesters before the buildings were razed.

The demolitions left about 100 Palestinians facing displacement, according to local reports.

The operation comes amid a prolonged Israeli military campaign in and around Jenin. Since launching operations in the city and its refugee camp in January 2025, Israeli forces have displaced more than 20,000 people and destroyed approximately 600 homes, most of them in the Jenin refugee camp.

Israel says structures built without the required permits are subject to demolition under planning and zoning regulations in the occupied territory.

Palestinians and rights groups have long criticized the permit system, arguing that obtaining construction approvals is extremely difficult and that demolitions contribute to displacement and territorial fragmentation in the West Bank.

The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has been under Israeli occupation since 1967. Israeli settlement expansion, military operations and demolitions remain central points of contention in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Israel is facing legal proceedings at both the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice relating to its actions in the Palestinian territories. Israel rejects allegations of war crimes and genocide and has challenged the legitimacy of the cases.

Cairo-The Israeli military said on Tuesday that air-raid sirens activated across parts of northern Israel due to a suspected hostile aircraft intrusion were triggered by a false identification, easing concerns of a potential aerial threat amid heightened regional tensions.

In an initial statement, the military reported that warning sirens had sounded in the area of Sasa and surrounding communities after systems detected what was believed to be a hostile aircraft entering Israeli airspace.

Following an assessment, the military said the alert had been caused by a mistaken identification and that no hostile aerial object had entered the area.
“The sirens warning of a hostile aircraft infiltration were determined to have been a false identification,” the military said in a statement.

No injuries or damage were reported.

The incident occurred as Israel remains on heightened alert due to continuing regional security tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and recent missile and drone activity across the region.

False alarms have become increasingly sensitive security events as Israeli air-defense and early-warning systems operate under elevated readiness conditions amid concerns over potential aerial threats, including drones, missiles and other unmanned platforms.

Israeli authorities did not provide further details regarding the nature of the misidentification or the systems involved in triggering the alert.

Beirut-Israel’s military on Monday issued new evacuation orders for residents of 10 villages in southern Lebanon and additional buildings near the coastal city of Tyre, citing planned operations against what it described as Hezbollah-linked sites despite a ceasefire that took effect last month.

In separate warnings posted on social media, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged civilians to leave targeted areas immediately and move to safer locations ahead of anticipated strikes.

The initial warning covered 10 villages, most of them located in southern Lebanon, where residents were instructed to relocate at least 1,000 meters from their homes. The Israeli military said the measures were necessary because of what it described as Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Later in the day, Adraee issued a second evacuation notice directed at residents of one building in Rashidiyeh and two buildings in Burj Al-Shamali, both near the city of Tyre. The military alleged that the sites were located near facilities used by Hezbollah and ordered residents to move at least 300 meters away.

The warnings marked the latest escalation in a conflict that has continued despite a ceasefire that came into force on April 17. Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged fire on an almost daily basis since then, raising concerns about the stability of the truce and the potential for broader regional escalation.

Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted locations in and around Tyre that they say are connected to Hezbollah operations. The strikes have caused significant damage in several neighborhoods and contributed to recurring waves of civilian displacement.

Lebanese authorities say Israeli military operations since early March have killed more than 3,100 people, although the figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians. The casualty toll has become a central point of contention as diplomatic efforts to reinforce the ceasefire continue.

The Israeli military separately announced that one of its soldiers was killed in southern Lebanon on Sunday. According to Israeli figures, the death brought to 23 the number of soldiers killed since the outbreak of hostilities with Hezbollah. One civilian contractor has also been reported killed.

The latest evacuation orders came as Lebanon observed Resistance and Liberation Day, a national holiday commemorating Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. Lebanese leaders used the occasion to call for solidarity with communities affected by the continuing violence rather than celebrations.

The renewed warnings underscore the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the persistent security challenges along the Israel-Lebanon border, where military activity and civilian displacement remain ongoing concerns.

Gaza-An Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in central Gaza killed a Palestinian couple and their six-month-old son on Sunday, according to local health officials, highlighting the continued violence in the enclave despite an October ceasefire that has failed to end hostilities.

Medics said the strike hit an apartment in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing Mohammad Abu Mallouh, his wife Alaa Zaqlan and their infant son, Osama. The family was reportedly asleep when the attack occurred.Later on Sunday, Palestinian medical officials said a separate incident in northern Gaza left another Palestinian man dead after Israeli gunfire near a United Nations-operated medical clinic in the Jabalia refugee camp.

The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately comment on either incident. At Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, relatives gathered to mourn the three family members as their bodies, wrapped in white shrouds, were prepared for burial.

The infant’s grandmother, Umm Hamza Abu Mallouh, told Reuters that the family had been sleeping together when the strike hit their home. She said the couple left behind six daughters.Yehia Abu Mallouh, brother of the deceased father, said residents received no warning before the attack.

He told Reuters that family members awoke to the sound of an explosion and discovered the home had been struck while its occupants were asleep. The deaths come as Israel has resumed issuing evacuation orders across parts of Gaza, a practice that had largely diminished after the ceasefire brokered in October under the administration of Donald Trump.

The ceasefire has not halted military operations. Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked in indirect negotiations centered on the group’s disarmament and the future governance of Gaza.Under the current arrangement, Israel maintains control over more than half of the Gaza Strip, while Hamas retains authority over a smaller coastal area, according to the source material.

Gaza health officials say approximately 880 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect. The figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants.

The Israeli military reports that four Israeli soldiers have been killed by Palestinian militants during the same period.Israel has said that post-ceasefire military actions are intended to prevent attacks and stop individuals from approaching areas near the armistice line separating Israeli and Hamas-controlled territory.

The latest fatalities underscore the fragility of the truce and the continuing humanitarian toll of a conflict that has persisted despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure a more durable settlement.

Beirut-Israeli airstrikes damaged a hospital in southern Lebanon and targeted multiple locations across the country on Saturday, as Israel continued

Beirut-Israeli airstrikes damaged a hospital in southern Lebanon and targeted multiple locations across the country on Saturday, as Israel continued military operations against what it said were Hezbollah-linked sites despite an April ceasefire agreement.

The strikes came hours after Israel issued evacuation warnings to residents of 10 villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to leave areas near locations identified by the military as Hezbollah infrastructure.
Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee said the army was compelled to act against alleged violations of the ceasefire by Hezbollah, adding that civilians were being warned in advance to reduce the risk of casualties.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported Israeli airstrikes on roughly a dozen sites across southern Lebanon, including an attack on an agricultural area that wounded several Syrian workers.
One of the most significant strikes occurred in the southern coastal city of Tyre, where a targeted attack near Hiram Hospital caused extensive damage to the medical facility.

Journalists at the scene reported shattered windows, damaged medical equipment and structural impacts throughout parts of the building.

Hospital chief executive Dr. Salman Aydibi said approximately 40 patients, including seven intensive care patients, were inside the facility when evacuation warnings were issued. Staff moved patients to safer sections of the hospital before the strike occurred.
According to Aydibi, no patients were injured, although around 30 staff members suffered minor injuries.

The hospital remained operational after the attack, though emergency services were briefly suspended while damage assessments were carried out.
The Israeli military said it had struck Hezbollah infrastructure sites in Tyre that were allegedly being used by operatives to plan and execute attacks against Israeli forces. It said precautions included advance warnings, aerial surveillance and the use of precision-guided munitions.

Israeli forces also conducted strikes in eastern Lebanon overnight. The military said it targeted an underground Hezbollah facility used for weapons production.

Separately, Jamaa Islamiya and its armed wing, Al-Fajr Forces, announced that one of their members had been killed in an Israeli strike in eastern Lebanon.

The latest attacks underscore the fragility of the ceasefire that took effect on April 17. While the agreement, backed by Washington, halted large-scale fighting, both Israel and Hezbollah have accused each other of violations, and intermittent military exchanges have continued along the border.

Under the ceasefire framework, Israel maintains the right to take action against what it describes as planned, imminent or ongoing attacks, a provision that remains a source of dispute between the two sides.

Beirut-An Israeli strike on southern Lebanon killed six people on Friday, including two rescuers and a child, Lebanon’s health ministry

Beirut-An Israeli strike on southern Lebanon killed six people on Friday, including two rescuers and a child, Lebanon’s health ministry said, marking the latest deadly incident amid a fragile ceasefire between Israel and the armed group Hezbollah.

The ministry said six people were killed in a strike on the village of Deir Qanun Al-Nahr, including two members of the Risala Scouts association, one of whom also worked as a freelance photographer. A Syrian girl was also among the dead, according to the ministry.

The Risala Scouts association is affiliated with the Amal movement, a Lebanese political and military organization allied with Hezbollah.

In a separate incident earlier on Friday, the health ministry said an Israeli strike on the southern town of Hanaway killed four rescuers from the Islamic Health Committee, an organization linked to Hezbollah.
The reported fatalities underscore continuing security tensions in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire that has largely reduced large-scale hostilities following the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.

Lebanese authorities have repeatedly reported casualties from Israeli strikes in border regions, while Israel has said it targets individuals and infrastructure it considers security threats.

The health ministry said more than 120 paramedics have been killed in Israeli attacks since March.
