Tel Aviv – Israel’s Migal Research Institute held a press conference on Thursday to reveal that they have developed a coronavirus vaccine.

Migal which is located in Qiryat Shemona area of northern Israel has achieved the scientific breakthrough that will lead to the rapid creation of a vaccine against coronavirus, reported Israeli website Grapevine which highlights the Israeli innovations.

The research is a culmination of a four-years multi-disciplinary research funded by Israel’s Ministry of Science and Technology in cooperation with Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture.

The new vaccine is a by-product Migal’s development of a vaccine against IBV (Infectious Bronchitis Virus), a disease that affected poultry, whose effectiveness has been proven in pre-clinical trials carried out at the Veterinary Institute.

However, Migal later gave the genetic adjustments to IBV vaccine to adapt it to COVID-19, the human strain of coronavirus.

Migal is currently working to achieve the safety approvals to help enable in-vivo testing and to initiate the mass production of the vaccine to counter coronavirus which has claimed over 2,666 lives.

China has reported over 80,000 cases, while Canada’s preliminary research on Iran’s condition has claimed over 18,000 cases. The virus has claimed the life Iran’s former envoy to Vatican on Thursday, while other ministers of Mullah regime are quarantined.
