Professor Roberts, the pioneer of the 1993 Nobel Prize in Medicine in Physiology or Pharmacology, is the discoverer of the mosaic structure of genes.

After the criminal attack of Qassem Soleimani and Maliki on the Ashraf Mujahideen on August 27 and 28, 2009 with 13 martyrs and more than 500 wounded, Professor Roberts was one of the first international scientific figures to rush to the aid of the Ashraf Mujahideen.

Richard Roberts has so far supported the Mojahedin 22 times in various attacks and headlines in order to liberate their captive homeland of Iran.

Professor Roberts is a signatory to the Joint Statement of 43 Nobel Laureates in 2009, initiated by the late Holocaust survivor and UN Ambassador for Peace, in condemnation of the Mullahs regime and in support of the Iranian uprising.

Born in 1943 in the United Kingdom, Richard Roberts went to the United States after graduating from high school and spent 20 years doing extensive research in genetics before receiving the Nobel Prize in Medicine. He is a pioneer in the science of genetics and has discovered more than 100 types of directing enzymes in this field.

Ms. Rajavi and the Mojahedin welcomed one of the most prominent humanistic, freedom-loving, and freedom-loving scientists of the contemporary world in Ashraf-3 with the appreciation of Professor Roberts for his distinguished scientific and humanitarian position and his continuous and unequivocal defense of the Mojahedin and the Iranian Resistance.

Professor Richard Roberts was among Nine Nobel laureates who wrote a joint letter to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights calling for the release of two elite Iranian students. They warned that the Iranian regime’s arrest and detainment of the students, Amir Hossein Moradi and Ali Younesi, will only allow for further repression against students and dissidents.

The Iranian regime, as highlighted by Professor Richard Roberts, is extremely concerned about the likelihood of another major uprising in Iran. The last major uprising was in November last year and it rocked the foundations of the regime, making it realize that it is not invincible and bringing home the fact that the people are the main force behind the regime’s inevitable collapse.

It is for this reason that the regime is resorting to suppressing the people – arresting those that present a great threat to the regime’s power and using violence against protesters and demonstrators. During the November 2019 uprising, thousands of people were arrested, imprisoned, and even killed. Yet this has only served to make the people of Iran more determined to see the regime collapse.

by Saeed Abed

Vice President Mike Pence, described Ashraf 3 as “the home of hope for a free and democratic Iran”

For more than four decades, the Mullahs’ regime has maintained that the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has ended and their office has closed. Even the title of “grouplet” has not yet removed the largest, most influential, and all-encompassing political organization of the last half-century from its literature.

The bloodbath started after 500,000 people protested on June 20, 1980. Thousands of MEK members and supporters were put to death, and in one instance, more than 30,000 of its members were massacred in the summer of 1988. This group has carried out more than one hundred operations, both big and small, and it has held and continues to hold the most political prisoners in the last forty years. It has the most supporters among Iranians abroad and is able to host an annual gathering of 100,000 people abroad.

However, it appears that the Supreme Leader of the regime did not comprehend where to hold chanting and mourning if these Mujahideen were defeated and had become a “grouplet”. What purpose do the countless movies, books, interviews, “documentaries”, magazines, and reports against the MEK serve if they are irrelevant?

Absolute political systems and dictatorships, which depend on a concentration of wealth and power in the hands of the ruling class and those close to them, have historically failed. A democratic political system was the only viable alternative to the new world. The Iranian people began the struggle for a democratic political structure with the Constitutional Revolution against the degenerate Qajar tyranny one hundred and sixteen years ago, before many democratic countries today, and they have achieved this goal at great cost to this day.

Reza Khan (the father of the Shah) was the first and most significant domestic factor that caused the project to democratize Iran’s political system to be delayed. He established a new authoritarian monarchy that was harsher and more savage than the Qajar tyranny and completely buried every legal document that had survived as a constitution. While the Iranian society was yelling for independence and freedom in the streets after the Pahlavi dynasty was destroyed, it was forced to deal with a regime that was far more brutal and powerful than the previous dictatorship and even all previous governments.

Khomeini’s regime was not a Pahlavi alternative because, in broad sense, if the monarchy was to be buried, it had to be different in form and content. However, the same elements of authoritarianism and dictatorship—and even the same kind of absolute government—brought with them a person who had some unreliable electoral systems.

Given the characteristics of this regime, one must search for a political current that presents the opposing ideologies of the Shah and the Mullah. That is, a democratic republic. The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which has for many years now presented and declared a clear plan for the establishment of a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state and a clear demarcation with the Mullah and Shah, is the only organization able to be in such position. No other political party or current has, as of yet, demonstrated such a history.

The NCRI has been a political organization with regular administrative and legal frameworks for more than 40 years. In fact, throughout Iran’s history, it has been the longest-lasting political coalition to take the shape of a reliable and powerful organization. Every individual or movement, regardless of the number of its supporters or its social base, has the same right to vote as the other council members in this political organization, which is completely democratic.

For decades following the overthrow of the Mullahs regime, the council has been presenting a specific plan for the establishment of a democratic republic, which is now presented in the form of a 10-point plan by Ms. Rajavi, the president-elect and acting head of state. It is acknowledged throughout the world as Iran’s modern and democratic program following the mullah regime.

One of the most crucial conditions for a political alternative, and the reason the regime intends to boycott it, is the support that the reactionary-authoritarian-colonial company of the Shah and the Mullah are attempting to obscure and disregard. Political and government officials from both Europe and the United States, as well as parliamentary delegations from both continents, provide this support.

Another example is the visit by Mike Pence, the 48th Vice President of the United States, and his meeting with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, at Ashraf 3, the MEK headquarters, in the afternoon of June 23, 2022.

In his speech to the gathering of MEK members at Ashraf 3, 1,000 of whom were former political prisoners during the monarchy dictatorship and also during the current authoritarian regime, Vice President Mike Pence, described Ashraf 3 as “the home of hope for a free and democratic Iran”. He added, “I have traveled more than 5,000 miles from my home in Indiana to be here today because we share a common cause….I can say with certainty that the American people support your goal of establishing a secular, democratic, non-nuclear Iranian republic that derives its just powers from the consent of the governed”.

On May 16, 2022, former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, also visited Ashraf 3 and met with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.

Mr. Pompeo said, “A serious missing factor in U.S. policy towards Iran has been the lack of political support for the organized opposition… Now, to correct the Iran policy, no matter who is in the White House, it is a necessity for the U.S. administration to reach out to the Iranian Resistance and take advantage of its tremendous capabilities. Ashraf 3 is one such place to focus on.

Mr. Pompeo also spoke about the leadership capabilities of the Iranian Resistance which he said has “a real political voice in Washington and around the world” and said, “I’d also like to recognize President-elect Maryam Rajavi. Under her leadership, the National Council of Resistance of Iran is laying the groundwork for a free, sovereign, and democratic republic in Iran.”

Both the removal of the regime and the preservation of the accomplishments of the new revolution are ensured by the existence of the Resistance units and the National Liberation Army of Iran, which has a regular, principled, and steely organization.

by Cyrus Yaqubi

It seems that Mike Pence’s full support for the Iranian people’s quest for freedom and democracy, led by the People’s Mujahedin of Iran and Maryam Rajavi.

On Thursday, October 28, supporters of the People’s Mujahidin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held a large conference in Washington DC. The conference, titled, “2021 Free Iran Summit: Holding Ebrahim Raisi Accountable for Crimes Against Humanity, Genocide, Regional Meddling, and Nuclear Defiance,”

This conference, however, was significantly different from similar meetings that were previously held in the United States. In this ever-important gathering, in addition to distinguished American personalities such as Senator Joe Lieberman, US Vice President candidate (2000), Senator Torricelli, U.S. Senator (1997-2003), Honorable Judge Michael Mukasey, 81st U.S. Attorney General, General James Conway, the former commander of the US Marine Marines, etc., who have already attended such meetings many times in the past and expressed their support for the MEK and the NCRI. The presence of former Vice President Mike Pence, at the meeting, magnified the importance of this conference.

In his speech, Vice-President Mike Pence, who has rarely appeared in public since the November election, stated that he was attending the meeting as his first opportunity after leaving office to talk in detail about Iran. He mentioned that although he was no longer talking as part of the U.S. government, he assured the audience that he was expressing the views and longings of the tens of millions of Americans who strongly support the establishment of a democratic republic, based on the separation of religion and state in Iran.

He continued his speech by condemning Ebrahim Raisi and calling for his trial for crimes against humanity and for the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, saying that the election of Ebrahim Raisi as president of the Iranian regime was a sign that the regime is in a state of desperation and weakness.

All indications are that the authoritarian regime in Iran knows that the days of its life are numbered, but one of the great lies that the mullahs are trying to convince the world is that there is no alternative to them, and therefore the current situation must be accepted. In response, Vice-President Mike Pence mentioned that on the contrary, there is an alternative, and it is well organized and well-prepared. This alternative has all the competencies and enjoys the support of the Iranian people. The name of this alternative is MEK, meaning the People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran.

Pence said the organization is committed to freedom and human rights for all Iranians and is led by a great woman named Maryam Rajavi, who inspires the world. Her ten-point plan for Iran’s future guarantees freedom of expression. It also establishes freedom of assembly and freedom for all Iranians to elect their own leaders and coexist peacefully with all independent countries in the region.

It seems that Mike Pence’s full support for the Iranian people’s quest for freedom and democracy, led by the People’s Mujahedin of Iran and Maryam Rajavi, reflects a profound understanding and recognition of the vulnerability and unpopularity of the regime in Tehran, on the one hand, and the presence and existence of a viable alternative to the mullahs’ regime, on the other hand, among the politician and media in the United States.

It is worth mentioning that last July, the former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, participated in an online conference and spoke at a three-day meeting organized by pro-resistance Iranian American communities in the US. In his speech,

Secretary Pompeo also expressed his support for the resistance of the Iranian people and pointed out that the time for the possible establishment of another monarchy in Iran is over.

Prior to Secretary Pompeo’s speech at the online conference, dozens of senators and members of Congress from both political parties in America, as well as a large number of American generals, expressed their full support for the establishment of a democratic republic led under Ms. Maryam Rajavi’s leadership.

In Iran, however, the reaction of the regime media to Vice-president Pence’s speech was very hostile, as expected. Almost all the regime’s media covered this meeting and Mike Pence’s presence and his support of MEK and Ms. Rajavi and their opposition to the JCPOA agreement employing, of course, using their own language and culture!

Because, on one hand, they do not want to spoil the morale of their precarious forces by publishing such news of their dire situation, and on the other hand, they are worried that under the pressure of the opposers of JCPOA, such as Pence and Pompeo, the US government and the British, France And Germany, that want to continue negotiations and reach a new agreement, conclude that negotiations are useless and a waste of time and only buys time for the Iranian regime to advance its nuclear program to acquire a bomb, and consequently start an alternative plan B.

That is, to refer Iran’s nuclear case to the UN Security Council, re-imposing all UN sanctions, and implementing chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which authorizes military operations against the regime’s nuclear facilities, which will certainly accelerate the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime.

This time, unlike in 2019, Khamenei will not be able to easily suppress the uprising.

Khamenei a month ago in a sham election with the appointment of Ebrahim Ra’isi as his next president, and two weeks later with the appointment of Mullah Mohseni Ejei as head of the judiciary thought that he had unified his regime and thus It is more stable.

But last week, the Mojahedin Khalq Organization of Iran, the only organized opposition that poses a serious threat to overthrow Iran’s religious regime held an international gathering called Free Iran, which was held virtually and in which more than 50,000 Points in 105 countries of the world were connected.

This extraordinary meeting that their supporters were able to attend together, showed that this organization is still a serious threat not only to the mullahs’ regime but also Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in her speech at the conference pledged to overthrow the ruling dictatorship of Iran and replace it with a free republic based on the separation of religion and state committed to the freedom and equality of all Iranians, as well as a nuclear-free Iran.

In this gathering, which was held for 3 days on July 10-12, important personalities from different countries participated and spoke in support of the resistance of the Iranian people. These included Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State under Donald Trump, Mr. Jans Jansa, the current Prime Minister of Slovenia, more than 30 senators and current members of the US Congress, including Senator Menendez, Sen. Ted Cruz, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in Congress, Dona Brazile, the former leader of the Democratic Party, dozens of senators, and former congressmen such as Sen. Joseph Lieberman, and Sen. Robert Torricelli, New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani at the time of the 9/11 attacks, Former US Ambassador to the United Nations and National Security Adviser John Bolton, Former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Former Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Former Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny, Former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, Former Prime Minister of România Petre Roman, and many Former Foreign and Defense Ministers of France, Italy, Britain, Poland, etc., and many other important figures, each in their speeches condemning the Khamenei regime and in particular, the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 by Ebrahim Ra’isi, who was serving as a Tehran prosecutor and a member of the death team at the time, and expressed support for the Iranian resistance led by Maryam Rajavi.

“The Iranian people see the corrupt ruling theocracy as their real enemy and the first and most important cause of the economic crisis,” Pompeo said. “We must continue to support the Iranian people and, in the first instance, support the trial of Ebrahim Ra’isi for crimes against humanity because they are fighting for a free and a democratic Iran in any way they can”.

Mike Pompeo’s remarks angered the Iranian regime, with Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh targeting Pompeo with obscenities and insults.

Slovenian Prime Minister Jans Jansha also said, “For 33 years the world had forgotten the 30,000 political prisoners massacred in 1988. This must change. Especially since the person who has been accused by Amnesty International of crimes against humanity has now become the President of Iran”.

Following this stance of the Slovenian Prime Minister, the Foreign Ministry of the Iranian regime summoned the Slovanian ambassador in Tehran to the Foreign Ministry out of anger and expressed his official protest against this stance. But later Foreign Ministry of Slovenia also summoned the Iranian ambassador in Ljubljana and announced that their policy stands for respecting human rights and condemning any human rights violations by any country.

“Shame on any government in the world to sit down and try to negotiate on any issue with the government headed by Ebrahim Raisi,” former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a speech condemning Raisi.

Mr. John Berko also stressed the establishment of a free and democratic government in Iran that has no affiliation with the former monarchy and the current regime.

In this gathering, despite the Iranian regime’s strict control over the Internet and the creation of an atmosphere of repression and suffocation inside Iran, messages of 1000 Mojahedin resistance units, were broadcasted from inside Iran, that announced their readiness for the final battle with the mullahs.

This message, above all, frightens the revolutionary guards (Pasdaran), who is responsible for repressing the people, because they know that these messages show the Iranian people that there is an organized resistance in Iran that is ready to enter at the earliest opportunity, and with the help of the people to take control of the cities in a short time (like what happened in November 2019).

Of course, this time, unlike in 2019, Khamenei will not be able to easily suppress the uprising, and this time the uprising is more likely to end up overthrowing his regime.

Berlin (Reuters) – Supporters of Iran’s exiled opposition rallied in Berlin and elsewhere on Saturday to demand the prosecution of the Islamic Republic’s newly elected president, Ebrahim Raisi, whom they accuse of crimes against humanity.

Flag-waving demonstrators rallied at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate and other locations as part of a Free Iran World Summit that featured speeches by former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa.

In a keynote address, Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, accused Raisi of being the “henchman” responsible for the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have said Raisi’s election was a blow for human rights and called for an investigation of his role in what they and Washington have called the extrajudicial executions of thousands of political prisoners.

Iran has never acknowledged the mass executions and Raisi has never publicly addressed allegations about his role. Some clerics have said the trials were fair, praising the “eliminating” of armed opposition in the early years of the 1979 Islamic revolution.

In an online address, Pompeo described the Iranian presidential election as “in fact, a boycott and the regime knows it”. “This is a show laid bare for the entire world to see,” Pompeo said.

He denounced Raisi as a leader who had been hand-picked by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to “inflict pain, frighten, continue to loot, and to plunder” on behalf of the theocracy.

Iran’s ongoing crimes against humanity have been swept under carpet by the EU for far too long.

Over the last four decades, European governments have implemented various policies toward Iran, but one thing has been made clear in this period: Appeasement of the ruling clergy only helps advance their hard-line agenda.

In 1992, the European powers experimented with a precarious policy toward Iran. They wagered that negotiating with the fundamentalist rulers of Tehran may end up changing their egregious behavior, especially at home. The regime’s human rights record was so appalling that Europe tried to rationalize its dicey rapprochement by pretending to have a “critical dialogue”.

At the end of the fatal experiment, however, not only had the regime not modified its behavior, but it had ramped up its human rights violations and conducted bold terrorist attacks on European soil.

The critical dialogue policy was suspended in 1997 after the German judiciary indicted senior Iranian regime officials over terrorist killings in that country. Even the most basic realpolitik lesson learned should have been that appeasement emboldens the regime and makes the situation worse.

Following that logical line of thought, dialogue should have been replaced by holding the regime accountable for its past actions in order to prevent future provocations. Shockingly, however, the European capitals doubled down on a more conciliatory approach, engaging Tehran in even broader negotiations beginning in the early 2000s, ostensibly tackling Iran’s clandestine nuclear program.

A few short years after the conclusion of that attempt in 2015, the Belgian judiciary is on track to repeat what German courts found 23 years ago, but on a much larger scale. Next month, regime diplomat Assadollah Assadi will be put on trial in a breathtaking case that sees him accused of direct involvement in a terrorist plot in France.

Prosecutors say that, in June 2018, Assadi delivered 500 grams of the powerful explosive triacetone triperoxide to his accomplices with the aim of bombing an Iranian opposition rally in Paris. Had the plot not been discovered at the very last minute, the terrorist act could have left hundreds dead, including international dignitaries and many European parliamentarians.

Those parliamentarians and many of their colleagues are now furious that the EU is continuing with its failed policies on Iran, even as the regime’s terrorist plots become more daring and the human rights situation worsens by the day. More than 40 European Parliament members, as well as national MPs in Poland and Germany, last week addressed the issue in Brussels and Berlin, respectively.

They vociferously condemned the regime’s terrorism and ongoing crimes against humanity. Insisting on action rather than words, they also urged their governments to live up to Europe’s political and moral obligations by adopting a firm policy toward the regime, including shutting down its embassies.
The keynote speaker and one of the main targets of the regime’s terrorism over the past two years, including a plot in Albania and the one in France, was Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

She echoed the parliamentarians’ sentiments and insisted there should be no doubt that the regime is inherently incapable of moderating its behavior, and that it should be overthrown by the Iranian people. This further highlighted the legitimacy and international recognition of the opposition as a viable democratic alternative. The NCRI’s message has had a meaningful impact both inside and outside Iran, forcing regime officials to warn about the growth of its reach and the drawing of the younger generation to its democratic 10-point plan.

Iran’s ongoing crimes against humanity have been swept under carpet by the EU for far too long. They are simply ignoring the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988, the executioners of which continue to hold senior positions in the Iranian government. And, when Tehran last year killed 1,500 protesters and arrested and tortured 12,000 others, Europe simply watched from afar, contenting itself with occasional statements of condemnation.

More importantly, after several failed and costly rounds of dangerous experimentation with policies of appeasement and negotiations, the Europeans continue to make the same mistakes. As the famous quote reminds us, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Individual European governments and the EU as a whole would do well to listen to the voices of the Iranian people.

To stop Tehran’s provocations, especially its terrorism, Europe must hold the regime accountable for its foreign adventurism and its reprehensible repression of dissent and peaceful protests at home.

What should a firm policy include as its core measures? The EU should adopt legislation to expel Iranian “diplomats” and intelligence agents like Assadi, who may be plotting further terrorist attacks. They should consider closing down Iranian embassies. And, most importantly, they should designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its proxies as terrorist organizations.

When it comes to human rights, the EU should seek to send an independent international mission to investigate Iran’s ongoing crimes against humanity and visit the country’s prisons. It must tell Tehran that it should stop its executions before any further diplomatic engagement.

For once, Europe should adopt a sane policy on Iran: A policy that better detects Tehran’s threat while hearing the legitimate calls for democracy of the Iranian people. Otherwise, European insanity will continue to breed Iranian terrorism.

Saudi Aramco’s oil installations in Abqaiq in the eastern province were attacked by Iranian drones on September 14.
