Tehran — Iran’s Mullah regime detained many of the foreign tourists who took pictures of the recent protests, Board Chairman

Tehran — Iran’s Mullah regime detained many of the foreign tourists who took pictures of the recent protests, Board Chairman of Iran’s Tourist Guide Association said on Monday.

The Islamic Republic’s strategy was criticized by Mohsen Haji Saeed, who stated that “all the tourists, who are seen in the wrong places, are not necessarily spies”.

He made the remarks during a gathering of parliamentarians and advocates for travel on Sunday in Tehran.

Haji Saeed said, “Those who are responsible to provide security in the country should be told that the security of tourists and its international repercussions are important”.

He emphasized that this issue has grown to be a crucial need for tourism and that politicians should work to reverse the recent surge of hostility toward Iran in other nations.

These claims were made since the government has not released any information regarding recent protest arrests of tourists.

On September 30, the Intelligence Ministry of Iran announced the detention of nine nationals of Germany, Poland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden. The ministry then referred to the recent anti-government demonstrations as “riots,” stating that those who had been detained had been “on the stage or behind the scenes” of the demonstrations.

One of the issues brought up at this discussion, according to ISNA News Agency, was the effect of the protests on Iran’s tourism sector.
