The decision was made during a cabinet decisions meeting held under the supervision of King Salman bin Abdulazeez Al-Saud.

According to the health ministry data as of 22 October, the total number of people who contracted the virus go up to 343,774. These include 8,343 active cases receiving necessary medical care. 791 of them are critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable.

However, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was ranked in the list of top 20 safest countries in the world in terms of regional safety and stability during the coronavirus crisis, according to a research concluded by Hong Kong-based Deep Knowledge Group.

According to the research, Saudi Arabia stood number one in ‘COVID-19 Regional Resiliency’ that shows a country’s capacity to adapt and thrive under adverse conditions.
