<p><strong>United Nations – </strong>India’s
position has fallen down in <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/happiness-report/2019/WHR19.pdf">Happiness Index</a>
to seven places in 2019 from 133<sup>rd</sup> to 140<sup>th</sup> position with
only six places ahead of lowest-ten countries. While the neighbors Pakistan,
China, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh have stood at 67<sup>th</sup>, 93<sup>rd</sup>,
95<sup>th</sup>, 100<sup>th</sup>, and105<sup>th</sup> positions
respectively, according to the World Happiness report released by United
Nations in March.</p>



<p>Happiness survey is done every year to rank the countries
according to the satisfaction and security of the citizens. The Gallup World
Poll questionnaire measures 14 areas within its core questions: business
&amp; economic, citizen engagement, communications &amp; technology, diversity
(social issues), education &amp; families, emotions (well-being), environment
&amp; energy, food &amp; shelter, government and politics, law &amp; order
(safety), health, religion and ethics, transportation, and work.</p>



<p>Among the top-ten are: Finland (1), Denmark (2), Norway (3),
Iceland (4), Netherlands (5), Switzerland (6), Sweden (7), New Zealand (8),
Canada (9), and Austria (10).</p>

<p>While the lowest-ten are: Haiti (147), Botswana (148), Syria
(149), Malawi (150), Yemen (151), Rwanda (152), Tanzania (153), Afghanistan
(154), Central African Republic (155), South Sudan (156).</p>
