Riyadh — Saudi Health Minister Fahd AlJalajel concluded a comprehensive visit to Germany focused on advancing health partnerships, digital transformation, and medical technology development between the two countries.

The visit included several strategic meetings with senior German officials aimed at expanding cooperation in public health, regulatory systems, research innovation and healthcare infrastructure.

AlJalajel held discussions with German Health Minister Nina Warken to explore joint initiatives in public health, medical research, disease prevention and long-term innovation strategies.

Both officials highlighted the importance of scientific collaboration and recognized the growing need for shared solutions that strengthen global health resilience.

The meeting underscored opportunities for increased research links between Saudi and German universities, medical centers and biomedical laboratories working on advanced technologies.

The minister also met with Germany’s Federal Joint Committee, where he examined governance models that support quality control, health regulation and service efficiency.

Talks included reviews of clinical standards, monitoring systems and frameworks that guide patient safety, treatment evaluation and health-sector performance.

AlJalajel further engaged with the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment to learn about Germany’s scientific methods for risk analysis, product safety and public health protection.

These discussions provided insight into regulatory processes that help maintain high-quality systems, improve transparency and support evidence-based decision-making.

A key part of the visit included a tour of Bayer’s global headquarters, where the minister met leaders from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors to explore new collaboration opportunities.

The meeting focused on pharmaceutical innovation, digital health platforms and the potential development of advanced research partnerships tailored to future healthcare needs.

The discussions also covered technology transfer programs and the possibility of expanding cooperation to support Saudi Arabia’s growing pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.

AlJalajel participated in a roundtable hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, bringing together leaders from health companies, scientific institutions and innovation-focused organizations.

During the session, participants explored investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s evolving health sector including digital platforms, medical devices, biotechnology initiatives and research-intensive projects.

A major development during the roundtable was the signing of agreements between the Saudi National Unified Procurement Company and several German firms to enhance supply-chain capacity.

These agreements aim to localize medical technologies in the Kingdom and ensure long-term availability of specialized products, tools and materials essential for health-sector growth.

AlJalajel also met with Saudi students studying in Germany where he praised their dedication and contributions to the Kingdom’s expanding healthcare and scientific fields.
