Speaking at a legal conference in Eilat, Baharav-Miara said a “race has begun to eliminate democratic institutions” as parliament considers measures to split the attorney general’s authority and expand the powers of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

She also criticized what she described as growing government disregard for court rulings, including delays in implementing a Supreme Court decision requiring military conscription of ultra-Orthodox Jewish men.
