Washington – The Saudi ambassador to United States of America, Prince Khalid bin Salman Aale-Saud, tweeted on Thursday that, Saudi Arabia and UAE will jointly work towards ending the conflict in Afghanistan and formulate the peace process.

In an another tweet, he expressed that peace talks held in UAE will surely bridge the gaps of reconciliation between Afghanistan’s warring groups.

He enthused that, talks were productive and will help promote intra-Afghan dialogue towards ending the conflict.

UAE hosted a two-days US-Taliban reconciliation talk in Abu Dhabi earlier this week, while Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were also present.

The talks seems to fortify the positive results and will bring tangible solution.

However, UAE also plans for a conclusive round of peace talks to finalize the reconciliation process.

Bulandshahar – The Special Investigation Team (SIT) found the four Muslim men innocent, they were accused of cow slaughter that led to violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahar.

“Another three men, Nadeem, Raees and Kaala, were arrested for their role in the cow slaughtering incident. A vehicle and a licensed weapon have also been recovered from their possession,” he added.

He said the trio was not named in the initial FIR, which initially had seven accused including two minors of Nayabans village.

So far, 27 suspects have been mentioned in the FIR and over 60 people have been registered at the Siyana Police station.

Negligence, Blame-game, and Faulty rules caused Mumbai Hospital Fire

by Ridhima Gupta

On December 17, a major fire engulfed Mumbai’s Employees State Insurance Corporation(ESIC) Hospital in Andheri (East). The tragedy that took lives of ten people – including a two-month-old baby left many in the state of horror. The fire that took place at the government hospital in one of Mumbai’s affluent areas, was not just an accident instead it was a result of grave negligence on the hospital authorities and BMC’s part. Just two days after the tragic incident another fire broke out in the hospital. However, no casualties took place this time. The Logical Indian looked into the details of the incident and found out that the mishap was followed by sheer negligence by the hospital authorities.

One ambulance for 300 patients

On Tuesday, at around 3 in the afternoon, the ESIC hospital saw a sudden commotion. Even before people could realize that the panic was because of the fire, the hospital was already engulfed with thick black smoke.

Not the first fire incident

According to the hospital employee, this was not the first time when such a mishap has happened in the hospital. On March 20, there was another fire incident in the hospital. Reportedly, the fire was caught up in the hospital’s kitchen. The staff had also written a letter to the hospital authorities, in which they highlighted the lack of safety measures in the hospital. “One of our staff members was injured in the fire, we complained about the same, but nothing was done even after that,” said the employee while talking to us.

He added saying that the hospital does not even have a fire extinguisher in place. “The one which were installed in the hospital had expired almost 11 months ago in January. The hospital did get some new extinguisher, but they were yet to be installed in the hospital premises,” the hospital staff lamented.

For the last few years, the hospital is undergoing construction work. While talking to The Hindu, Amruta Shelar, a nurse at the hospital, said, “We have been seeing this construction work for almost 10 years now. The debris is lying here and there. Why did the NBCC take so long? Their workers had placed material in the room that caught fire. Did they take permission? They had shut one exit too.” Previously, the F-ward in the hospital was shut down after the ward got inundated in rainwater.

The employee says that the hospital has been facing such problems from the last many years. They complained that at times the ceiling of the hospital had also fallen over the people. They said that the tragedy like this was meant to happen.

“The hospital should be clean, but on the contrary, it was always covered with dust and debris, just same days before the incident a Cobra emerged out of the scrap lying on the premises. How is this sort of conditions at the hospital good for the patients,” said another employee.

Blame game

Hospital medical superintendent B.B. Gupta complied to the reports of lack of fire-fighting equipment except for a few fire extinguishers. “We were in the process of installing them. These things are looked into by the ESIC head office,” reports The Hindu.

According to the reports, ESIC hospital was not given No Objection Certificate (NOC) despite that the hospital was still functional. As per the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the hospital was not given NOC as fire norms were not followed, however, regardless of that the hospital was operating.

Soon after the tragedy, that took away the lives of many the authorities started the blame game. When the Mumbai Mayor, Vishwanath Maheshwar was asked about the fire audits in the hospital, he blamed MIDC. However, the latter denied to take credit and blamed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

No Fire safety compliance

The Logical Indian also spoke to the Mumbai-based activist, Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh, who has filled various RTI in the city to find out about the safety measure taken for private and public buildings.

According to him, no fire audit was not in ESIC hospital since 2007. He said that hospital authorities just renovated the hospital from the outside when from inside the hospital is in a dilapidated condition.

“After the Kamla Mills fire (that happened last years in Mumbai) I had filed many RTIs, one of them was about to inquire if all the private and government buildings in Mumbai have proper fire safety compliance. Replying to the RTI, the BMC and fire brigade said that they are not responsible for fire audits. However, according to the MIDC, it is the fire brigade’s job to look into the fire audit,” he told us.

He also told us that under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006, there should be a compulsory audit in all private and public buildings to check safety compliance. “It is sad that only the act is made and nothing happens,” he added. According to another RTI filed by him, almost 48,434 fire incident has taken place in Mumbai in the last 10 years, killing 609 people.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar, visited the ESIC Hospital on December 18, Tuesday. The minister said that the State government would conduct an inquiry and submit a report to the Central government.

Hinduism too speaks about beautiful “Hoors” of Paradise

0

The concept of Houri or Hoor in Islam have always been mocked at, while Hindu religious scriptures too have spoken explicitly about virgins in paradise.

Hoor al-ein is a part of the Islamic doctrine system. The faith is based on proofs in the Glorious Qur’an and the blessed sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Glorious Qur’an says:

And fair maidens with wide eyes, like preserved, hidden pearls. (Al Waqi’ah 22-23)

Allah the Almighty has described Hoor al-ein for us in more than one verse with beautiful descriptions such as wide eyes, having very darkness in their eye balls and very whiteness in around, virgin, free from all sorts of dirt and impurities with beautiful morality and good conduct with their husbands in Paradise. Allah the Almighty has promised of Hoor al-ein for true believers in order to stimulate to do good in this world and to stay away from bad actions.

In a Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says: “And if a woman among the women inhabiting Paradise were to appear to the people of the earth, then she would illuminate what is between the ( the heavens and the earth), and a pleasant scent would fill up what is between them, and the scarf on her head is better than the world and what is in it.” [Ref: Jami` at-Tirmidhi , The Book on Virtues of Jihad, Chapter: What Has Been Related About Going Out In The Morning And The Afternoon In The Cause Of Allah]

Vedas and other Hindu scriptures verify that Hinduism also has the concept of “Hoor” like that of Islamic faith. However, there are differences in many related issues, as Islamic concepts stand unique from all other religions.

Mahabharat says about the one who was killed in the battlefield and got martyred and deserved the Paradise:

वराप्सरःसहस्राणिशूरमआयॊधनेहतम
तवरमाणाहिधावन्तिममभर्ताभवेदइति

Meaning: Thousands of handsome Apsaras (maidens) run up in haste to the hero who has been slain in battle (i.e. a martyr), (exclaiming) be my husband). [Ref: Mahabharata Shanti Parv (Book 12) section 98; Shloka 46]

Atharvaved says that there will be plenty of them.

“Boneless, pure, cleansed with the wind, brilliant, they go to a brilliant world. The fire does not burn their male organ. In Swarga they get plenty of women.” [Ref: Atharvaved 4:34:2]

The concept of Hoor in Islam is to encourage men to abstain from fornication, adultery and all sorts of sexual perversions, which will guarantee them “pure and beautiful” Hoor in paradise.

However, extremist groups who outwardly claim to be Muslims have always bribed the recruits with “Hoor”, despite the fact Islam condemns terrorism and extremism in all forms.

FAKE VIDEO: Saudi girl didn’t hug Enrique, it was a girl from Baku

Riyadh – The viral video of a Saudi female fan of Enrique Iglesias jumping onto the stage and hugging him tightly has turned out to be fake. It originally belongs to a concert held in Baku – Azerbaijan in 2016.

A pro-Qatari twitter account Ahlawiyah-Mulkiyah on December 15 ignited the propaganda alleging that a Saudi girl hugged Igleasias, later the propaganda was carried forward by different anti-Saudi twitter accounts. Neither the girl is Saudi nor was the concert held in Riyadh.

The original video titled – “Enrique Iglesias fan saved in Baku” – was uploaded on July 5 2016, which has so far received over 3.9 Million hits.

Iglesias performed at the inaugural ceremony of Formula E race on Thursday, which was attended only by the E race audience, however, the concert was not open for common public.

Saudi Twitteratis run boycott campaigns against Turkish products

Riyadh – Saudi twitteratis have started a boycott campaign recently against all the Turkish products, in order to punish its President Tayyip Erdogan for playing dirty gimmicks using Khashoggi’s case against Saudi Arabia and its leadership.

The hashtag #Saudis_rejecting_the_Turkish_Products is storming the social media platforms demanding the fellow Saudi citizens to absolutely boycott Turkish products and substitute them with local or the products imported from the friendly countries.

The Saudi activists express their anger against Erdogan for playing the Khashoggi card against Saudi Arabia by instigating the negative propaganda, while Saudi Arabia has ignored his deliberate mistake and has been helping Turkey come out of economic turmoil which started in 2018.

A Saudi activist angrily tweeted, “Since our country is being fiercely attacked by Erdogan’s official media and Erdogan’s provocative statements; our national duty urges us to boycott any Turkish product as a response to these repeated offenses.”

An activist added, “Turkey is preoccupied with the kingdom’s internal affairs, Saudis were busy building their future.”

Another activist said, “Turkish products should be boycotted, considering that Anakara is conspiring against Saudi Arabia.”

Some of the activists have even published the logos and names of the Turkish products sold in Saudi Arabia, and asked not to purchase them.

A user questioned, “What if more than 20 million Saudis boycotted the Turkish products and tourism? It would be a slap on the face for Erdogan and anyone who think to offend the kingdom, its leadership or people, we would stand together”.

The anger comes naturally against Turkey and Qatar for their deliberate attempts to drag Prince Mohammed bin Salman into Khashoggi’s murder, while international investigation agencies denied such baseless claims.

Google to open its new campus costing $1 bln in New York

0

Newyork – Google is investing more than $1 billion on a new campus in New York, becoming the second major technology company after Amazon to pick America’s financial capital to expand and create thousands of jobs.

The 1.7 million square-foot campus, called Google Hudson Square, will include leased properties at Hudson Street and Washington Street, the company said in a blog post on Monday. The new campus will be the main location for Google’s advertising sales division, the Global Business Organization.

Google hopes to start moving into two Hudson Street buildings by 2020, followed by a Washington Street in 2022 and will have the capacity to more than double its New York headcount, currently more than 7,000, in the next 10 years.

The company’s plans to invest outside its home base mirror those of other U.S. tech giants such as Apple, which said last week it would spend $1 billion to build a new 133-acre campus in Austin, Texas.

Last month, Amazon.com said it would open offices in New York and the Washington, D.C. area, creating more than 25,000 jobs.

Mountain View, California-based Google’s move to invest in prime real estate on the lower west side of Manhattan also underscores the growing importance of New York as a hub for innovation and an incubator for technology companies.

With a plethora of white-collar workers and good infrastructure, the city provides a better option to other places that would require more investment.

“We’re growing faster outside the Bay Area than within it,” said Ruth Porat, chief financial officer of Alphabet and Google.

It is a “fairly sensible” move for Google given the amount of available talent pool, Atlantic Equities analyst James Cordwell said.

It also makes sense for Google as New York has been the center for their core advertising business, Cordwell added.

Kashmir problem doesn’t need force, rather peace talks, says former Indian RAW Chief

Srinagar – Former Indian Raw chief AS Dulat on December 10 claimed that Pakistan has given up on Kashmir and the message coming out from Kashmir is that the stakeholders want peace and a dialogue with New Delhi, reported The Tribune.

“Kashmir problem cannot be solved by force because it is not a military issue but a political one, the report quoted Dulat as having said.

“The only way forward is to engage and talk with the stakeholders,” according to the report he said.

“While we continue to exaggerate the role of Pakistan in the Kashmir issue, today the Kashmiri has no interest in Pakistan. It was only till about 1994-95 that Pakistan was a real player and was behind virtually everything that happened,” Dulat, who headed India’s external intelligence agency, Research, and Analysis Wing, in 1999-2000, remarked.

“Today things are in control, but the political process has to start. The question, however, being raised in several quarters is how to start the political process as they don’t have any political workers on the ground level,” the report quoted Lt Gen Gautam Banerjee (retd), former Chief of Staff, Central Command, as saying.

“Things in Kashmir were fine till about 1989 and thereafter, the military created a situation four or five times where the political or ideological process could have been started, but it was never done and the situations were abandoned for the armed forces to handle,” he added according to report.

Lt Gen Gautam Banerjee said the Kashmiris know that they can never get separated from India but they act in a rebellious manner because it has become a culture due to a societal breakdown. A social and political transformation process has to be initiated.

“Pointing out that today the local content in terrorism is more than the foreign content, Lt Gen Satish Dua (retd), former GOC of 15 Corps, said by pulling out from South Kashmir early, “we ceded space for terrorism to spurt and that space has to be filled,” the report said.

“Stating that Burhan Wani, the neutralised terrorist, was a carefully created phenomenon who became an icon for the local youth, Lt Gen Dua said Kashmir is hungry for young leaders, but there are no such leaders with whom the younger generation can connect to,” reported The Tribune.

“Stating that the situation in Kashmir is more dangerous today than it was earlier,” Lt Gen MC Bhandari (retd) said. “Kashmir is not a security problem but an amalgamation of historical, political, ideological issues and a clash of egos on both sides. The military can only be a part of the solution,” The Tribune quoted Lt Gen MC Bhandari (retd) as saying.
