Islamabad — Ibrahim Kamaluddin Saeed, the son of the prominent Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leader Hafiz Saeed, has been brutally assassinated by unknown Gunmen after abduction and severe torture, according to reports.
Vice President of Jammu-Kashmir Youth Society and TedX Speaker Ms. Yana Mir posted on X (ex-Twitter), “Unknown gunmen strike Again!!! Lashkar Head Hafiz Saeed’s son Ibrahim shot dead That too after getting abducted and tortured. Style hy apnay bhai logo ka”.
The circumstances surrounding his abduction and subsequent assassination remain shrouded in mystery, leaving many unanswered questions. Despite efforts by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, no significant leads or clues regarding his whereabouts or the identity of the abductors have emerged.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the father of the deceased and the co-founder of LeT, is a notorious figure with a long history of involvement in extremist activities. He is listed on India’s NIA Most Wanted and has been designated as a terrorist by multiple countries and international organizations, including the United Nations Security Council, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and Russia.
In 2012, the United States placed a $10 million bounty on Hafiz Saeed for his role in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which resulted in the deaths of 166 civilians. The move was supported by India, although it triggered protests in Pakistan.
The news of Ibrahim’s death adds another layer of complexity to an already volatile situation in the region.
As investigations progress and more information comes to light, the primary focus remains on uncovering the truth behind the assassination.
