INS will be deployed in the gulf waters to ensure the safe passage of Indian merchant ships.
Talwar was designed by Russia’s Severnoye Design Bureau, and it was preceded by Brahmaputra-class frigates. The Indian Navy currently has six of these ships and plans to induct four more in the future.
