Islamic Military Coalition Launches Global Initiative to Combat Terrorism Financing

Abidjan – The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has launched a specialized training program in Abidjan focused on combating terrorism financing and money laundering.

Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Digital Transition and Digitalization, Ibrahim Kalil Konaté, and IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, attended the launch, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

This landmark program, the first of its kind in Abidjan, seeks to enhance the expertise of officials from key institutions in tackling financial crimes linked to terrorism. Participants will engage in intensive courses and workshops led by international experts, covering global legal frameworks and best practices in countering illicit financial flows.

As part of the initiative, Brig. Gen. Alah Kouame Joseph, commander of the International Academy for Counter-Terrorism, hosted Al-Moghedi and his delegation in Abidjan. The discussions centered on strengthening collaboration in counterterrorism strategies and financial crime prevention.

During the visit, Al-Moghedi was also briefed on the academy’s training capabilities, educational programs, and technical expertise in responding to terrorist threats. The program underscores the growing international focus on financial counterterrorism measures and highlights IMCTC’s expanding role in global security efforts.
