Nayef Al-Sudairi, the Saudi non-resident ambassador to the State of Palestine, embarked on a significant visit to Ramallah, where he met with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh, to strengthen bilateral relations and explore avenues for cooperation between the two states.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shtayyeh warmly welcomed Ambassador Al-Sudairi to Palestine and expressed his commitment to providing full support for the envoy’s mission. Shtayyeh further emphasized his belief that the ambassador’s efforts would greatly contribute to the development of relations between Saudi Arabia and Palestine, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Ambassador Al-Sudairi, who was on a two-day official visit to the West Bank, reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Palestine in international forums. He emphasized the strength of the relationship between the two states and the potential for enhanced cooperation across various fields.
In a separate meeting, Ambassador Al-Sudairi held talks with Alexandre Stutzmann, the European Union’s representative in Palestine. The discussions centered around the latest political developments concerning the Palestinian cause, as well as other areas of common interest. The meeting highlighted the importance of international cooperation and support for achieving a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Furthermore, Ambassador Al-Sudairi engaged in discussions with Munib Al-Masri, the chairman of the board of directors of the independent development organization Al-Quds Fund and Endowment. The talks focused on strategies to strengthen and develop relations between Saudi Arabia and Palestine, underscoring the mutual desire to foster closer ties and cooperation.
This visit marked Ambassador Al-Sudairi’s first trip to Palestine since his appointment as ambassador in August. Prior to his meetings in Ramallah, the ambassador presented his credentials to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, symbolizing the formal establishment of his diplomatic role.
