Riyadh – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has recently forged cooperation agreements with the International Wars and Disasters Victims Protection (IRVD) organization, with the aim of extending assistance to people in Syria and Yemen. The agreements were signed as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid and relief to those affected by conflicts and disasters.
One of the agreements outlines the implementation and operation of a mobile healthcare system in areas of Syria that have been struck by earthquakes. This initiative is set to benefit a staggering 385,111 individuals. Abdullah Saleh Al-Moallem, the Director of KSrelief’s Health and Environmental Aid Department, emphasized that the primary objective of this agreement is to establish 20 mobile clinics and distribute infant formula to those who have been adversely affected in the regions of Idlib and Aleppo.
In a separate agreement, KSrelief and IRVD have joined forces to establish a prosthetics and rehabilitation center in Sayun Governorate, Yemen. The center is expected to cater to the needs of 3,545 individuals who require prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation services due to conflicts and crises in the region. This collaboration aims to address the pressing challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and provide them with the necessary support to regain their mobility and improve their quality of life.
The agreements were formalized during a signing ceremony in Riyadh, where Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, the Assistant General Supervisor for Operations and Programs at KSrelief, represented the center. The agreements underscore the commitment of both organizations to alleviate the suffering of those affected by wars and disasters, while fostering cooperation and coordination between humanitarian entities.
These initiatives are part of a broader framework of relief projects that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides through KSrelief, its dedicated humanitarian arm. The Kingdom has consistently played an active role in extending assistance to countries and regions facing crises, demonstrating its commitment to alleviating human suffering and promoting stability in affected areas.
The cooperation agreements between KSrelief and IRVD serve as a testament to the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to provide timely and effective humanitarian aid. By implementing mobile healthcare systems and establishing rehabilitation centers, the initiatives aim to address critical healthcare and rehabilitation needs, ultimately helping individuals and communities rebuild their lives in the aftermath of conflicts and disasters.
