Saudi Foreign Minister receives phone call from Iranian counterpart

Date:

Riyadh – Hossein Amirabdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, called Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

The ministers talked over the phone about topics of mutual concern and “the next steps in light of the recent tripartite agreement.”

After years of animosity, Saudi Arabia and Iran announced this month that they would resume diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies in two months. China served as the deal’s middleman.
