Saudi Arabia denies reports about welcoming Blinken to the Kingdom

Date:

Riyadh – Saudi Arabia denied the media reports about welcoming U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the Kingdom in the near future, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

“Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the validity of the statement circulated in the media and attributed to an official source in the ministry regarding the visit of the US Secretary of State to the Kingdom in the near future”, SPA reported.

“The ministry explained that it did not issue any statement in this regard”, it added.

Earlier on Friday, media published a report stating that “Saudi Arabia looks forward to welcoming U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the near future to strengthen ongoing ‘positive’ discussions”.

The report was attributed to the Kingdom’s foreign ministry. However, the ministry outrightly denied the rumors.
