Riyadh — Saudi King Salman bin Abdulazeez has approved additional funds of $1.35 million that is SR5 million for Iftar Meal Project to benefit one million people in 18 countries worldwide, during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Saudi Gazette report, the project will be implemented by the Saudi Arabia’s ministry of Islamic Affairs as a part of the ministry’s projects during the holy month.
Sheikh Abdullateef Al-Sheikh, the minister of Islamic Affairs, thanked King Salman for his continuous support to the ministry’s various works and programs in serving Islam and Muslims.
Al-Sheikh said the ministry has completed preparations to implement the project in 18 countries through religious attaché’s offices in the Kingdom’s embassies, and Islamic centers that are under the ministry’s supervision in a number of countries worldwide.
“The implementation of the project this year will be through the distribution of food baskets following all precautionary measures being taken in those countries to prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” he said.
