#GoBackModi becomes Top Twitter trend when Indian PM lands in Chennai

Chennai — A twitter hash-tag #GoBackModi became a top trend on Monday morning with over 50,000 tweets by 12pm, protesting over the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Chennai.

Modi arrived in Chennai on Monday morning and during his speech, he used flattery to impress Tamilians that he spoke in Tamil language in United States.

“During my visit to the United States of America, when I said something in Tamil and I told the world that Tamil is one of the world’s oldest languages, so even today, the language is being resonated across the United States,” Modi said.

However, the flattery failed as the Tamilians massively protested against his arrival in Chennai.

Following are some of the example tweets that trended.

#GoBackModi went viral in January with over 240,000 Tweets, when the PM visited Tamil Nadu.
