Riyadh — Saudi Government on Thursday called on respective parties involved in Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace and stability in the region, and to peacefully settle the conflict in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.
According to official Foreign Ministry sources, Saudi Arabia is currently following up Kashmir’s situation closely—in the aftermath of revoking of Article 370 in Kashmir.
Saudi Arabia believes in autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir based on international resolutions, the source at Foreign Ministry added.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had telephonic conversation, and Mr. Khan briefed Crown Prince about the current situation of Kashmir, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Indian Government on Monday abolished Article 370 and 35A in Kashmir which granted special privilege to the Kashmir’s indigenous people.
The announcement was made without the consent of the Kashmiri people, and there has been no opposition cries and no dissent, and the announcement was made in a haste.
