Former Chief of Jamiat Ahle-Hadees Hyderabad passes away

Hyderabad — The former chief of Jamiat Ahle-Hadees of Hyderabad-India passed away on Friday night at his son’s house in the new city part of Hyderabad.

82-year-old Moulana Abdurrahman Farooqi, a retired Indian Railways employee, who was staying with one of his sons, died after Taraweeh prayers having suffered with short-ailment.

Moulana Farooqi is known for his relentless efforts in steering the educational activities of Jamiat Ahle-Hadees.

He served as President of state-level Jamiat Ahle-Hadees of United Andhra Pradesh from 1998 till 2002.

From 2002 till 2008, he served as President of city-level Jamiat Ahle-Hadees Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He regained the same position from 2015 till 2018.

Moulana Nooruddin Umri, former preacher of a Golconda mosque, released a five-minutes audio expressing the grief over the loss of “an unparalleled mentor”.

“Moulana was very jovial, no gathering would be silent in his company. He used to make friendship with everyone and make everyone smile,” Nooruddin recollected.

“Moulana would commute in public transport, or even in an auto-rickshaw, at times he would never shy to be a pillion rider despite he had status to have his own car,” Nooruddin added.

Founder of Millichronicle, Zahack Tanvir posted a live-video sharing his personal experience with Moulana Farooqi which he had at Quran classes during 2004 to 2007 conducted at Moulana’s house after Fajr prayers every Sunday.

He described Moulana Farooqi as down-to-earth natured personality.

He requested the viewers to pray for Moulana’s forgiveness as his death took place on Friday night in Ramadan, which signifies a successful end of a believer, according to a Prophetic narration.

His funeral is to take place after Friday prayers at the headquarters of Jamiat Ahle-Hadees Hyderabad at Masjid Mohammedia Langerhouse, and the burial will take place at the Muslim graveyard behind the Langerhouse Police station.
